just tested the set up and it works great. i converted a nx wet over to a dry using nx's single nozzle in the new era filter. went with a stealth install, cant see it at all...unless u r looking 4 it. have it wired up on a momenatry switch that is powered thru the 12v source in the console. tried it at about 4000 in 2nd, and sent it sideways hard. very impressed. pulls hard even in 3rd. no knock or pinging. really tough to look at live data to see 4 sure. mounted a 15lb bottle sideways behind the drivers seat in a custom holder. would rec this setup to anyone. clay

All sounds great man, just confused on your choice of bottle placement. Why behind the seat and not in the trunk?

Got a pic of the install or bottle holder?

since it would have to go sideways in the trunk, i thought behind the seat would eliminate all the how to open/close the bottle. really makes it easy to use the stuff. i know its turned the wrong way, but it sure runs awsome in spite of placement. i was thinking about rotating the tank so at least the down pipe faces a little toward the slush :p u may notice the black line that runs paralell with the coolant hose, that is the nos line with cover, the selonoids are under the radiator cover. did not mean to overstate the quality of my bottle setup. clay

I once saw some pics of a car where the bottle blew up. He had the bottle in the trunk. It blew out the trunk and the wall of the garage behind it. Having that behind the driver's seat would make me nervous!

Yea, if it's the one I saw it was a Maxima. The guy left his bottle heater on and had messed with the burst disk. So, the bottle blew the car apart and half of garage, not pretty.

put the bottle in the trunk, and skip the dyno...put a 150 shot in it, pull 6 degrees of timing and run some low 12's at the track!!!

me to it would make me really nervous that i wouldnt enjoy it lol. a friend told me that the chance of the bottle blow is very slim.. but still i would be nervous!.
On the other hand, its a very nice and clean setup!! i like it, keep us posted with the new track times

 yeah that guy is an idiot. He messed with the burst disc for sure, since the bottles are all certified by the bottle manufacturer (Luxfor), and the burst disc is there to pop WELL before the bottle will. There was a combination of stupid things that guy did to blow up his car:
1. He closed the bottle valve, with the heater turned on. The pressure solenoid that controls the heater saw whatever his line psi was at the time the valve was closed, and thus kept the heater on.
2. He wired up his bottle heater to a constant 12V wire, instead of a switched ignition wire, so the heater stayed on with him away from his car.
3. He placed the switch in a location where he couldn't see whether it was activated or not, making it all the easier for him to forget it on. NX provides a lighted toggle to make it easier for you to see when its on or off.
4. He somehow altered the burst disc to not fail. Rumor has it when he installed his blow-down tube, he installed the new burst disc that came with the fitting OVER THE TOP of the existing fitting.

Then after blowing his car up, he goes and makes a website trying to bash the nitrous company for HIS stupidity.. Not to mention trying to sue the nitrous company, and losing I'm sure... Dumbass

I just spent a few minutes checking out that website. His car sure blew up good!

Anyways it's a crappy website...if I was going to try to make my case on the web I'd take the time to make a good presentation so people don't think I do nitrous installs as poorly as websites :-P

point well taken regarding the bottle heater, however, that was one (small) reason i went with a dry system. decided against the heater. again i wanted to keep it as simple/safe as possible. with the dry, if bottle pressure is a liitle low, well the hp will be down, but no danger cause the maf hopefully keeps things in balance. i do have all the extra equipment, but it is so nice having quick access to the bottle to be sure it is open/closed etc. thanks to all for the kind words. clay

You do realize that if you race it at the track it probably will not pass tech because you don't have blowdown tube that exits the car.

u r probably right. however, it is not the track i am after, it is the dyno. just trying to find time to see how the mods are working together. sure feels fast. clay

You converted from a wet to a dry? Why? Just to make the nozzle easier to hide? You already had a better setup.

actually it is a wet kit i had on my 2000 ss, now sold. at one point i had changed to a dry system, after i had to take the whole thing off before warranty work. decided (while on the ss) to go dry. i really like the dry set up. very easy to install and manage. clay

dude make sure to watch your IPWs. If you have headers and a cam plus a dry nitrous system those injectors might be maxing out and going static.
