can't say that ive noticed anyone with rear 275s (on 9s - 48 to 51 offset) with lowering springs. Lots of 275s around these days - but don't think with rear eibachs / slp / king springs. Id like to go with 275s, but don't want to give-up the eibachs. Im not adverse to minor grinding / rolling - but don't want major surgery. Anybody have this combination installed - or something close to it ?

Check out this thread (http://www.ls2gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207 24). He's got Eibachs and 275 Drag radials... Looks like it works.

This is purely conjecture, but I will soon know for sure. Though I can do some accurate speculation.
First, I am running 50mm offset and 275 Toyos, no rubbing, no fender roll.
Second, I will soon have King springs in the rear.
Third, I've "tested" it by putting about 300lbs+ in the trunk (caused about 1.5" drop, and the tires actually pull just a little bit in and away from the fender - drove around and no rubbing. Because of the IRS, the wheels camber in slightly as the IRS system moves upward. This can only benefit the rubbing issue.

I was wondering the same thing. Let us know how it works out.

I am curious, if you correct for camber (camber kit) so you don't wear out the inside of your tires how will that effect clearance. I have got 275 on the back of mine and we were going to lower it but ......... looks iffy. Let me know how it comes out. I still have the camber kit.

I got back into SCCA Solo a couple of years ago by "sponsoring" my son in a Neon coupe. He started out in STS and now runs it with a turbo in SM... a very competitive class for modified street cars on race rubber. The catch is he still uses the car as transportation.
Now that the car is dialed in it has -3.0 front, -2.0 rear camber. The surprising thing to me is that in 30k miles of street driving the 205-50/15s wore evenly. Granted, these are narrower tires than 275's, but I figure the stock 245's are similar proportionally to the Neon tires...
My thought, and I've seen it in print elsewhere, is modern radial tires are very forgiving to off-vertical camber settings... The tread tends to stay flat on the road while the sidewalls compensate.
This is just speculation in terms of answering your question. I know there are a few other folks on the forum who are running lowered for road racing and autoX. Hopefully they'll chime in...
