Ok, I'm doing new wheels and tires... not by choice.

I had TSW Thruxtons 18x9.5 in the rears, with a 45mm offset. I fit 275/35/18 BFG DR's and KDW2's on them with no issues. I then last put on 285/35/18 Nitto 555RII's with no issues. The BFG's ran 10.9" wide and the Nittos ran 11.2" wide (from each of their website specs).

Now my suspension is not stock. I do have Pedders 5/16" raise drag springs, x-member bushings, etc. I also have BMR Drag Bags but they are only used for the track and I grinded the fender lip off.

I'm going with Ruff Racing 278's with a 48mm offset, which will help shove the wheel/tire in 3mm's more. So this time around I wanted to go with Goodyear GS-D3's, but they only come in a 265 or 285. They are 11.4" wide for the 285's. I'm thinking with the extra 3mm's that they should fit without any rubbing issues?

What does everyone think???

It should fit about the same as the Nitto with that offset. I wouldnt expect any issues if the 555 fit fine.

That's what I think. Though I'll wait for a few more opinions.

Performance wise I think the BFG KDW2's and the Goodyear GS-D3's will be right on par with each other. Though with the GS-D3's being wider in the rear I would think that they might have more grip. I loved the KDW2's but they could be noisy at times and from what I've read the GS-D3's have a better ride and are quieter.

Both are a good looking time as well IMO.

3mm = .118 in
The GS-D3's are .2in wider, which means .1in extra on each side of the tire.
.1in ~ .118in

No one else has any thoughts? Are the Nitto 555R's really as wide as their website says?

We just shipped out this setup with the nitto Drs 285/35/18.. They should be installed soon. i doubt you should have any problems. +48et is always good for that kinda stuff.

I had the Nitto DR's on there with the 45mm offset and had no issues. Though I want to go with the Goodyear GS-D3's as I PMed you. They run .2" wider than the Nitto DR's. Also I'm not so sure if the specs on the Nitto's are fully correct. They list them as being 11.22" wide (sidewall). The GS-D3's are 11.4". If the Nitto's REALLY are 11.22" then I would think the GS-D3's would work out fine.
