Hi guys I have a question. Does the Michelin PS2 come in a size that’ll fit the stock wheel? I’m thinking about putting a set on my car. I want to improve the handling and grip a bit.
Thanks.

I am curious about these too. I guess you were checking them out on the same site I was? ;)

You guys ought to quit wondering and actually type Michelin into your browsers :) If you were to do that, you'd find this page: http://www.michelinman.com/catalog/tires/MichelinP ilotSportPS2.html?tiretype=3&tire=1
On that page you'd see a link to a PDF of the sizes the tires are available in, and in that PDF you'd see that they offer them in both 235/45-17 and 245/45-17, both of which will perfectly fit the stock wheels.
I think you'll find that those tires cost more than most wheels though.

Handling and grip are two different things. You may want to improve your stock suspension and then, pick out a set of tires that work best with your setup.
Confusing issue? It certainly is. Tires may be good, better or best, but only according to the suspension. BF Goodrich tires are very good, however their full potential may not be realized unless the car is setup accordingly.

I'm wanting to try the new BFG G-Force Sport. Don't know about the grip, yet. I plan to put them on some 18" wheels. They do make these tires in P245/45R17, in case you wanted to try them. Also, they are relatively inexpensive.

I was running 225/45/17 PS2 on my previous car - they were far and away the best all around street tire I have ever tried. Fantastic handling in wet or dry. Small slip angles and very quick response. Tire wear was perhaps 150% of original PS
I checked to see if they were available in GTO original size when I bought the car and they were not - but it looks like Michelin has now made the correct size available.

So, does all that information say that they will fit on the wheel, AND will not have any fitment issues? Perhaps this was the question that should have been asked.
I don't see a fitment chart there to tell me which size of their tire will fit properly on my stock wheels and my car. Not everyone knows everything about tire spec.s, etc.. I know that I could use to learn more. I have seen at least a few threads where people are having fitment issues with wheels/tires. From what I have seen, you can't just trust the charts and/or sizes. A little friendly assistance would be nice.
I found 245/40/17s for $186 ea. not mounted. Yes that's expensive, but they are "Y" speed rated, (186mph?) People are raving about the handling and traction. Sounds like a hell of a tire to me. The stock replacement BFGs are $130 ea. on that same site. Around $50 a tire isn't a whole lot more, if they're really that much better.
Any useful input would be welcome. :hail:

Let's put it this way: the stock tire is a 245/45-17. If you buy a 245/45-17 tire, it will fit. If your stock tires rub, these will likely rub. If they didn't, they won't.
The Aussies run a 235/45-17 stock tire. If you were to run that size, it'd fit.
Being worried about wheels is one thing, but worrying about which stock size tires will work is something entirely new to me.
