Yes, the bolt pattern is off by .65mm. I already know this and that is a whole seperate debate. I am running 17x 8.5 front with 245 General UHP and 17x9.5 rear with 275s. Did just a smidge of grinding on the driver side wheel well and couple of taps with the hammer on the inner wheel well on the pass side. Now, no rubbing even when doing AX events. No vibration at 140+ mph either. I have 8 mm BAER billet spacers in the front and ARP extended studs.

I ordered plain center caps and had custom pontiac logos made.
Yes, they wheels are a little dirty..... Just wanted to take a pic so I had one for work so didn't clean up anything.....

Doesn't look bad, but just doesn't do it for me...but you probably came out cheap with that setup!

I would have prefered a rim with a deep dish to the front, but all the TSW's that I liked were on back order. Also, I was not going to try to get 45 mm offset rims to work on the back. I tried my rims with a 48 mm and there was no way with 275s with out doing some serious grinding or rolling. The rears I think are 54 or 56 mm. 17x9.5.

Another thing for me was that I will NEVER polish a set of polished wheels AGAIN!!! I had some on my truck and it was freakin miserable.
The chrome ones are easy.

I got these on the car for about $1100. The price was right!

You saved about 8 pounds per wheel with this setup too. I Am getting all the parts to do the same swap.

thanks for the info!

Where did you find the 17x9.5 wheels? I've been looking everywhere. I have the front two, just having a hard time finding two more. Would love 9.5 but will also like 8.5 for my current tires that are somewhat new. Any help?

Yes, the bolt pattern is off by .65mm.

I'd have thought that this is fixable by machining off a little material,
recenter the lugs. You'd only need to remove 1mm or so of material.

But nobody seems to have done it.

C5 replicas are available on discount tire and tire racks site. They have them in 17s.

As for the lugs being off..... as soon as you torque them down, the paint or chrome gets scrubbed off so there is your .325mm of thickness. Key is to torque them down with out the full weight of the car resting on the wheel. Keeps them centered that way.

Also, I highly recommend getting the longer studs for the front. I would not run them with out them.

I have two 17's already and the front spacers. As soon as I find two more C5 17x8.5's I'll throw on the ARP studs and mount them jokers. Where can I get just two more. I'm even in Vegas right now and no one has any! I want 17x8.5's but would love some 9.5 replicas. Any where I can go to get 2 without loosing by a$$?

discount tire direct or tire rack. both have them. I got mine from a local discount tire. I had them order them for me with blank center caps. I didn't want the vette logo on them.

I called Discount tire and they have the 17X8.5/9.5 but only in crome. I'll check Tire rack. Thanks!...

Looked to no avail. Will I ever find two more 17's?

That's what I wound up doing. I have plain center caps now and I will have the wheels powder coated after I get back from the sand box. 275/35-18 in back and 245/40-17 in front. Rears are 9.5" and fronts are 8.5". I installed studs and added 12mm/1/2" spacers...PERFECT! Just need drag springs and about a 1/2" front drop to even it out.

I still get a lot of people looking cross eyed at my car trying to figure out what kind of wheels they are with the pontiac emblem in the center cap. Unless you know what vette wheels look like, you would never know that they were not some kind of OEM pontiac wheels.

I am still kind of dissapointed that the G8 doesn't have the same offset as the GTO.... there would have been a lot more wheel choices for us.

:iagree: Sometimes you gotta think outside of the box. I seen a post with some dished 17 X 9.5. That would look awsome in the back. I'll try to find it. It was an ebay link, around $180 each.
