All you guys posting pics of the XD had me curious.
I went and looked, and kinda dig the subcompact ones.
I ended up buying the new Glock Premier Gold G19 TALO Limited Edition while I was there though. I guess they just came out a few days ago. Love it, super gorgeous looking, and well... it's as perfect as you could ask for in a carry piece.
I may go back and see if the range has any XD's to shoot, just to see if I like them much or not.
Dammit, you guys are influential!
Here's a couple of crappy pics of my new baby:

I think you'll be sorry you passed up the XD once you shoot it.
Unless you are already a big glock guy and used to shooting them

I'm already a Glock lover, and already own a standard G19, so this was the perfect choice for me. Same gun but spiced up a little bit, and an "LE" designation that may (or may not) affect future value.

These TALO's are $200 more than a stock Glock pricing in at $700.

Wait a minute. You were the guy in the other thread saying that dollar amount was directly proportional to the quality of the gun. Your definition of quality was accuracy and reliability and you stated that didn't come for less than a $1K.
You just spent $700 on a $500 gun.
WTF. :judge:

Thanks everyone.
I think I'll probably end up with an XD (not the Scion, lol) if they live up to the hype. I'll know soon enough.

No, I paid $700 for a $700 gun. I have sent off a few Glocks to Aro Tek in the past for customization, and one of them was for purely cosmetic work like finishing and such. I spent way more having the custom work done than I just spent on this one.
I also said that I typically spend more than $500 on a gun and more often than not I spend over a grand yes... but a Glock is (pardon the pun) bulletproof and has never let me down.

I saw your pics on thefireingline, its gorgeous. Really is. But its all show and no extra go, which is why your choice surprises me. I bet I can make my POS* Sigma look like that. :D
*seriously, no sarcasm intended.

is it really a 200 dollar markup just for some metal finishing on the chamber and the extra engraving on the slide?
