No more yellow!

I went to order a GTO and my dealer siad that i could not get a yellow one because they are now going to build white instead of Yellow. Is this true?
I think that they want me to buy the black one that the have in stock and they are giving me the BS!

The only reason I would imagine he told you no more yellow is because the cutoff date for orders has passed. But no, no white GTO will be offered for 05.

Actually, he's telling the truth as far as he knows. Here's why:

05 ordering is closed. You can't order an 05 anymore. So if the dealer is going to let you "order" it's going to be a pre-order for 06. Supposedly GM has said no yellow for 06, and they have indicated a "50U" color (not named, just coded) in some nebulous sales release. Well 50U is White for GM, so...you decide. Nothing official I have heard as far as if white is actually going to be available.

So basically, no lies from them. They just should have explained to you that what they would be ordering would be an 06 model - that would have made more sense to you.

Tell them you want a 05 yellow, period, end of story, and you'll search gm buypower until you find one. They could certainly trade their Black (good color) for a yellow if they wanted to.

Yeah, I think it was Nikivee who chopped a white GTO onto the Woodward GTO. Looked "rad". :cool: Alas, I can't find the thread.

You don't have a location listed. I'm sure if you let people know where you are they can point you toward plenty of Yellow GTOs in your area. Remember, 2005 models are still being shipped so keep an eye on gmbuypower.com and check the inventory for yellow.

If it lists on gmbuypower, call the dealership and ask if it's on their lot. It may still be in transit.

According to GMbuyPower you have a yellow M6 at King O'Rourke in Port Jeff. You hava yellow M6 at Potamkin in Manhattan. You can check others. Both of those cars have been in gmbuypower for a long time so I think they're there. Good hunting.

Well, I suggest you go to another dealer, (any) get a price and they'll do a trade. Mine did, no porblem, I wanted midngiht blue and I got it. So if the dealer is worth his salt, he'll do the right thing and you'll get one.

The GTO comes in 6-sp, Auto, exterior colors, and interior colors... No options.. Just find your color/tranny combo somehwere and go buy it :mullet:
