OK. I got my wheels a couple of weeks ago and finally got time to trim the fenders and put the wheels on. I drove it and there was all kinds of noise and vibration, so I search and found the info about how to finger tighten in the star pattern and then torque down in sequence. I did this and I know the wheels are on correctly, even though I warped the passenger side rotor slightly from the first attempt at installation. No more vibration, but there is still a clatter noise. From what I can tell the rotor is floating around between the wheel and spindle. Is it possible the nuts that came with the wheels are too short? Now that the wheels are on straight I am going to put the oem nuts on to see if it make a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably need Hub Rings

I have the plastic ones that came with the wheels. They seem to work OK. I do plan on getting some billet ones soon.

I don't understand how one could warp a rotor during wheel installation. I don't think it is even a possibility.

Maybe if he tried to get the wheel on with a sledge hammer. Other than that, no idea.

If you overtighten/torque the lug nuts it is possible to warp a rotor. Some people use gorilla torque when tightening bolts down! I always tighten until snug then use a TQ wrench in the "star pattern" to tigten down.

Exactly, that's best way to do this.

I think it was warped after I drove it with the wheel off center. Anyway had them turned yesterday and I will not drive it until I get some hub rings. If the rings don't solve my problem, then I don't know what I'm going to do.

Any other input?

If hubrings don't work and you had no such vibration occurring before the wheel swap.
I would contact vendor. Sometimes wheels aren't perfect rims and tires, might have an out of round tire.
Put your old no vibration rims on and see if its wheel or suspension related?

No problem hope it works out!
I really like those rims almost got them instead of my drift's.
Offsets only thing that stopped me.

OK, put my oem 18's back on the front and no vibrations, noise or any problems. So, I hope the rings will cure problems with new wheels. Will post when I get them on.

If the rings didn't help.
I'd say you have an out of round tire(s) or possibly bent rim(s).

Yea, even with no hub centric rings, it shouldn't really vibrate if everything is tigthened correctly. I had BMW CSLs wheels installed with OEM lug nuts and no hub centric ring and they were fine. Not that it's good idea to run them lug-centric, but still.
I'll agree with Mikey about tire. Maybe it's not balanced properly or something is defective.
