I was at the mercedes dealer (see kill section for related story) and noticed a CL6xx with some really nice wheels, looked it over, saw it had 275s in back to match its 615 hp... looked at them from behind only to be pleasantly surprised with how fat they were...

they should do me (and most other people) just fine up to about 500 rwhp with the right tires. Im sure they might still slide around a little... but thats part of the fun.

just an FYI for any noobs.

Yeah I have 295's in back of my Vette and the GTO's 235's obviously look pathetic in comparison. 275/35/18's are a definite in the future.

Yeah the switch to 275's was a big improvement in the traction department.

Funny, I am now used to my 275's and they look little again :(

Also, I can spin easily through first with just SLP tune and bolt ons, so any street tire with a good amount of power will still suffer.
Every once in a while when I have my wheels off I throw the fronts on the rear, just to appreciate the look of the bigger 275's

Also, do it right, get the right offset do you dont have to grind those purdy fender lips!

i dont foresee any grinding being needed on my car. Im unsure if i'll be doing CCW or just keeping the stock 17s. new tires are a couple of months away for me still anyway.

i really like the CCW 550s but they dont offer them in black... so idk.

They're so expensive anyway...it's only a few hundred to get them coated.

I went to a local place in Atlanta. The place was referred by my shop. As far as doing a good job there isnt much to it. Hard to screw up.

staggered thruxton 18s, 9.5 on back with a yok avs es100 275. It's a wide 275, so lots of grinding. I'm sending the wheels out to get coated all black.

what offset ? Im wondering if those yok 275s would fit with CCW... are they a little wide, or are they BFG wide ?

Offset is an 8" 40 on the front, 9.5" 45 rear. They're BFG wide. I had lots of problems getting them to fit. I had to grind 3 different times, at most the lip I have left is only an 1/8" wide.

ok so i'll probably scratch those tires of my list if they are that wide... im trying to leave my fenders intact as much as possible. I'll probably wind up with some Nitto 555Rs.

The ones i saw today i believe were Michelins... look like a great hi performance all season, i may go back tomorrow and check the exact model. MB doesnt put it on their site
