What is the thickest wheel spacer folks have used with OE 18's?
I'm concerned with strut rub up front when going up from stock 235's to 245's, but at the same time don't want to risk insufficient thread engagement.

On a related question, does anyone know if longer (say by 5mm) wheel studs are available, and if so, from whom?

Thanks much.

5mm or 7/32 is about as wide as you can go without needing longer studs. That should be more than enough to keep you from rubbing, but try them without the spacer first.

There are longer studs available, but they're 1/2" longer I think, not 5mm.

Thanks. What got me concerned was looking at my OE 17's (currently on the car), and even without any spacers seeing the stud tops below the nut upper surface. I guess the OE 18's could have a thinner mounting pad, although that's probably unlikely.

Just in case, what places are best for spacers and for longer studs?

Not sure about the 18s, but 5/16" is PLENTY, if I were to buy again, I would go thinner. With 5/16" there is not enough threads, though I am currently driving with them. I need to take them off to check to see of the rub is gone, I assume that it has. I bought them online at:

I had them in two days (FL) about $18 with shipping.

WOW, you put 5/16" (almost 8mm!) spacers behind the 17's!
I'm sure the rub is gone, if it isn't I don't know how your wheels were even turning without 'em. Are you considering using longer studs or dropping down to a thinner spacer?

I actually just installed some 3mm (.125") on mine yesterday. stock 18s with 245s - with the 3mm shims installed the studs still go all the way thru the threaded part on the lug nuts. btw they were only like $6 each at summit

Cast aluminum spacers you can get from Summit or pretty much any parts store. The machined ones are a bit more expensive.
