I am bias because I use to work for Toyo. But I will say this, I will NEVER buy a tire that's tread pattern was based on a aesthetic design aspect (same reason, I wouldn't buy a Nitto even though it's the same company as Toyo). Sooooo....T1R.

I've had my T1R's on for about 10,000 miles now and expect to get another 20 out of them. I am EXTREMELY happy. Are they the best tire out there? Nope. But are they the best VALUE out there? In my eyes, yes.

That said, is Toyo the only brand I'll buy? Definately not. But i've driven on the KDW2's and I've also heard a ton of horror stories.

The KDW2 is the best tire I have had on the Goat. Not anymore noisy than stockers, but with my car I really dont hear the tires.

Bump-anyone else?

I love the "look" of the KDW2 but it seems like most people are saying the Toyo is a better tire.

well, the tire was designed based on the "look" and many people buy it for that. My relationship with toyo aside. I would never buy a tire that was developed to have a "look" and then made to work. I'd much rather have a tire that was developed to work.

BFG KDW2's

Really sticky and great treadwear {12K miles on mine} for a performance tire.

Well, the obvious question is - What do you want out of the tires? Are you going to be racing? Autocross? Drag racing? Only Street Driving? Any chance you'll be in the rain? How long do you expect the tires to last? Is price an issue?

I just went from KDW2's to Toyo T1Rs...

KDW2s
-Great grip dry/wet
-Decent tread wear
-Shitty noise
-Not the most comfortable tire in the world to drive on, very stiff
-Lame tread pattern (always hated it...to much rice for me)

T1R's
-Great grip dry/wet
-? tread wear
-quiet as a tomb
-Very soft ride...kind of strange going from the KDW to this...
-Much nicer tread pattern (looks)

I had the BFG's on 18" wheels and the Toyo on 19" and the Toyo is much more comfortable...I'm going to assume that a Toyo on a 18" would be even better.

Figuring the price difference...I say T1R FTW...

KDW2s... that is what i have and i love them .. i been takeing freeway circle ramps at 50mphs and they stick great. I never used toyos before but if toyos street tires are as good as there offroad MTs, then go for it. Toyos = money tho
