ETMC did the shop car about 6 months ago and now am going to start on costumers cars. here is a post of the first one, this is the shop car. The main thing is you will be able to send your wheels off and have them widened about 2 inches after the work is done. I run a 315 on the back of my car. Post 106 has some pics of the final product.

So what is needed? Cut the stock section out and weld in the mini-tub?

If you look through that thread there is a step by step what i did on mine. You have to shave off the fenders, cut out the wheel well and move it over, move the shock over, notch the A-ARM. its all there. Cost looks to be about 1700$ plus the $400 for the wheels to get widened.

Man that's not a bad price at all for those of you who want to fit some serious meat back there, but don't want to shell out for a SRA conversion.

well 4-5 days most likely, for the tub job, but to get your car back with the wheels widened it would take atleast two weeks. thats how long it takes to get the wheels back.

Magnumgto has his done by Vengeance and he also is running 325s. I also think LS2tiger is getting his done by Vengeance now too, but don't quote me on that one. Either way they are lower east coast and you are upper east coast LOL!

Would the rear seat still be functional or would you need a seat delete kit?

I am very interested in doing it this summer. I just purchased staggered Petrol Vengance 18x8 and 18x9.5 though. Could I widen that rear wheel to fit a 315?
Does anyone make a 315 x 18 in a 26" diameter?

firefly9r68

i would have to look in to the tire size, if they make it for the 18, but we should ba able to get you to a 10.5-11" rim in the back. at the very least a 305

I've met and talked with him already. His looks great.
But, I don't really wanna mess with the outer sheet metal more than I already did with the grinding.
I can get 285/295's to fit already gotta love ROH.
Just looking for options to go past 300's.

295's??? That's a bit optimistic considering your current tire is basically a 265.

BMR partially tubbed their car to fit 295's and this Lucifer guy apparently pulled his quarters to fit the same size, but you think you can do it by merely having rolled/cut lips and ROH's? lol, anything wrong with this picture?!!

Mikey340

Picture wrong?
I've spent a considerable amount of time under/over/inside my GTO as well as a few others, so my comments are a bit more than optimistic.
I can guarantee 285's will fit on my car as it sits now.
I also think 295/305 will fit my car with alittle more massaging of inner wheel well, notched a-arm and shock relocation all can be done by myself in an afternoon.

But this thread is about mini-tubs.
I want to be able to put 300 series 335 would be ideal.
For my future power increases.
I can barely use the power I have now with 275's so increasing power before ancillary componets doesn't seem right to me i.e. heads, cam, headers, tune, intake, injectors,Supercharger(s).
Therefore I'm looking to increase traction=larger tire contact.
I'm willing to listen to any and all suggestions on how to do this, mini-tub, SRA conversion, possibly a body kit like the RA6.

Posts like these always have a common thread:

1) Poster wants more traction, yet went out and bought small Toyo 275's instead of a normal size tire from a top tier manufacture.

2) Poster's with the aforementioned smaller brand tires always say it would be "EASY" to fit much larger tires, yet haven't actually done it. I mean, if you honestly believed it would only take an afternoon's work and you're rolling on 305's, what are you waiting for? lol

3) Poster with relatively cheap rims and tires says 335's would be "ideal"!
Do you plan to keep 19's? Have you priced a 335/25-19? Are you prepared to spend nearly as much on two tires as you spent on 4 rims? ...btw, 335's are a complete pipe dream with the stock suspension and no quarter panel flaring, or an SRA conversion.

I ain't sayin', I'm just sayin' ! :dunno:

Sorry I wasn't born with a silver spoon.
I do 99% of all my own mods and maintenance on all my vehicles.
Maybe to you the 2700 I spent was cheap for rims and tires.
But for me that was a months pay(hopefully that will change in a couple hours) job interview).
If I had the money to pay somebody else to do the work yes it would've been done already.

Scoffs at convention?
seriously lol

I will not post in this thread any longer about your comments.
You can PM me to keep this thread on topic or start a new one about whatever your rant is because frankly I don't see your point.
