Shortly after making payment, I get an "Email" (outside of ebay) stating that he no longer has them in 18x9. So he offers me a set of (4) in 18x8 and he would through in a set of "Lug Bolts" (I can only presume he meant to say "Lug Nuts" because they are Nuts... NOT bolts... lol)

Anyway, I declined the offer and demanded to have exactly what I paid for or my money refunded by the end of the day. (My reply to him was through the ebay messaging system and I asked him nicely to keep all contact from now on within ebay.)

A couple of days later he replies to me again (with another message out side of ebay) stating "You have contact number?" (Obviously of Oriental decent.) I'm adding that information just in case you ever contemplate buying wheels off ebay. It may be a good way of detecting whom I (and several hundred others) have had the opportunity of dealing with. I did not give him my phone numbers. I replied to him again via ebay and stated that I would either like my money refunded immediately if he does not have my wheels I paid for OR, I should be given the opportunity to select another set of wheels his wheels listed, of roughly the same price. This is when I happened to notice that he now had several more of the same exact wheels I bought (that he says he no longer had) "relisted"... BUT... now listed for $100.00 more then I paid. So I wrote him back asking he could please explain this to me... Needless to say, he refused to answer my questions. One of which was, if he would be willing to send me a set of the "Stern ST-1 18x8.5 / 18x9.5 in HYPER SILVER, (I even added a direct link to the set I was referring too that were the SAME EXACT PRICE for which I had already paid him.) He agreed to the deal BUT... added a question to his reply (which was... Yes, Again, Outside of the ebay messaging system.. lol) and that was.. if I would like them in HYPER BLACK. I stated "NO! an I'm not going through this BS again with you! Send me what I have paid for or send me EXACTLY what just I suggested, as an alternative, to the set of wheels you stated several times that you no longer have, OR I will be contacting ebay & paypal customer support to file a dispute." No, he never replied. 5 days later (3 weeks to the day now to be exact.) I send another message asking him where my "Mystery Wheels" are. "Do you have a tracking number for me?" In which I was never given a reply too.

A couple of days later I get a message saying that he forgot all about it, and would be sending the wheels out first thing in the morning. (With no clue as too what he was actually going to be sending me.)

5 days after that I have to send him another message requesting the tracking number for the wheels he stated he was sending the next day.(meanwhile I had written to both paypal & ebay customer services, but, got little rise out of them, other then a run around questing I copy and paste all the emails he sent me outside the ebay messaging system.

Well I finally got my "Mystery Wheels" a few days later. I opened them up and.... WALLAH!! Stern ST-1 18x8.5 / 18x9.5 BUT.... they are in fact.... the HYPER BLACK

I shook my head and decided I would bite my tongue and try them out for the sake of at least having gotten..... SOMETHING!!

Please Note: Yes the tires on them NOW, will be swapped out very shorty. I already had my wheels sold and the guy was waiting patently for them due to knowing what I had been going through with this joker on ebay. And I had already ordered the tires I needed for the original wheels I thought I was getting... LOL, but I called and canceled that order until further notice, before they were in transit. Once I found out what the wheels were going to be that I would need to wrap, I went ahead an ordered a set of 245/35 - 275/30 BFG's for these "MYSTERY WHEELS". They should be here by the middle of next week. The ones I have on these in the following pictures I will add, are not even close to the proper side for the wheels. But theres no rubbing, so I decided to give the guy my stock wheels and not make him wait around any longer due to the fact of not knowing if the tires I ordered would even be the right ones once they arived... LOL!!!

People these days I tell ya. It seems like some sellers only concern is to turn a quick buck, rather then offer their customers a quality service.

I have already received the drag bags, an I've got a fender rolling kit on the way too... So I will be back to post those pics in due time. But for now I'm stuck with these over stretched lollipop wrappers. In which is NOT the goal I was going for here... It's a way smaller tread pattern then I had before, due to someone trying to smurf my donkey once again... But that usually only happens ONCE per person... Hopefully this sneaky character on ebay will be shut down.

I know your car well, that's why I decided to keep the ones he sent. Plus they're a better offset. I may eventually have them shaved down so I can obtain the most practical fitments achievable with a stock body line. I know from reading a few threads here, that some people do not recommend shaving the wheels. But.... looking at this wheels hub contact area, it seems to me that it can in fact be obtained, without sacrificing safety.

Note: I did go with a set of the CSiJason (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/member.php?u=1516) Aluminum Hub Centric Rings and they seem to be ok. I do however seem to be getting a slight vibration in the steering wheel at around 60. I have not yet tested them at greater speeds due to not having re-torqued them yet after the initial 100lbs at the time of install. I also think it may have allot to do with 2 of the tires having 16,000 miles on them (Stockers that were pulled off the front stock wheels, and put on the rear of the new wheels). Then having put one of the rears I had on the back stocker (used for a short few burnouts) that is now being used on the front. The other front one is brand new. Not sure if that even makes sense... lol But the bottom line is... I'm not going to pass judgment till I've had all 4 of the new tires (balanced the best of my tire guys ability) and put on. Then I shall give you my verdict as to how they ride, handle and vibrate, under extreme conditions. :secret: lol Joe

i had a guy i work with buy from this same company and got his wheels in 11 days, like 8 or 9 bussiness days. I am in the process of actually buying from ebay and i will keep everyone posted on how they treat me. once again sorry but they do look great. and the lip looks amazing!

Haha, I'm going through the same situation right now with the SAME seller. I bought some ST-7s from him, and he tells me they shipped. Then, the next day he says he can only find 2 of them, so he offers me the RPMs you got. I say no and keep asking for my money back and he keeps asking me if I want different ones. I tell him every time I want my money back and he tells me Saturday that his inventory indicates he has 8 wheels, so he's "looking for them." I'm giving him until tomorrow and then I am filing a claim with my Credit Card (as PayPal will be useless unless I wait another 193283@# days).

Edit, here is my convo:

I have given you 2 days so far. If I haven't heard from you by tomorrow at noon your time (3pm Eastern Time) that you found them and that they will be on my doorstep by Sunday May 4th or Monday May 5th, then I want my money back. Those wheels are actually really cool looking. Dunno how the 9.5" +46 ET will work out, but if you can keep em from rubbing might be one of those times where you take lemons and make lemonade. The 9.0" with +38 ET in the rear would be a much bigger pain in the ass I'd think.

No rubbing at all with the stock 235/40-18 tires. Actually, it looks as though I could drop the car 3-4 inches if I wanted too.

The drag bags I ordered from a sponsor on here arrived late Saturday but I didn't get them installed yet. They came shortly after I got back from the tire shop.

I've got absolutely NO traction or wheel protection what so ever with the stockers on the new wheels. Maybe 2 inches of rubber for padding at the most, due to them being so stretched now. I drove it home from the tire shop like a Catholic school girl. :angel:

I've got over $100 invested in just a cheap ass set lug nuts.. and No, I'm not real happy about it... But what pisses me off the most, is the fact that he leaves 1/2 of his buyer hanging out to dry, when the wheels finally do arrive, but their lugs lever came to bolt them up. Then jacks them off in hopes that they will either forget, or just give up asking for them. And if only 1/2 the people take the time to report him for it... he pockets a FREE $75.00 a person. He's told me for two weeks now, that he just keeps forgetting to ship them when I write in regards to there whereabouts... or a tracking number for them.

I did not hesitate to just go buy another set when I seen they never came with the wheels. I pretty much seen the whole "Oopsies, my bad" BS coming well ahead of time... Its been 4 weeks and I still haven't received the lugs yet...

I suppose I could waste another 10 minutes of my day asking him where they are, day after day, till it hopefully drives him absolutely mad.... That would be well worth the $75.00. But then again, things like that don't even begin to guilt trip guys like this....

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love these wheels. They look pretty amazing in person on the car. :thumbs:

As for the price... I doubt you'll find any other wheel with this deep of a lip and aggressive looking appearance for anywhere near 1/2 the cost of what these are.

Some may have a different opinion on what looks good on their cars, but allot depends on your taste too. I like them because my car was starting to look.... too damn pretty. But once I put these on it, it gave it that mean look. As in... It now screams... "Don't you dare park that heap of crap right up tight to my car pal... the owner of this here car is probably one bodass mother!!" So, now I don't have to scream it at them from 1/2 way across the Walmart parking lot while running and welding a baseball bat.

What wheels are you referring too that you say you now have in Hyper Silver? Is it the (18" Stern ST-1 8.5" Front + 9.5" Rear) or do you mean the "18 RPM R505 8" Front + 9" Rear ???

Either way I want to see the wheels you say you are willing to send to me first. I'm not going another 3 - 4 week's without any wheels. I have to work and can't play this game of wheel checkers with you guys for ever.

I pulled everything out.

Primed them.

Then I sprayed everything with "Martin Senor - Metallic Silver" paint. After a couple days of dry time, I then applied several layers of "Plasti-Kote" (A Super hard "Enamel Clear Coat").

While this was drying properly (over the course of 2 days), I sprayed the aluminum GTO lettering with a Mix of Plasti-Kote & Spice Red Metallic from a little bottle of "Touch-Up Paint" that the dealer gave to me when I bought the car new in 07.

Once they were completely dry. I applied the lettering to some "3M-Double Stick Tape" and carefully removed the excess by cutting each of them out one at a time with a very sharp razor blade. By trimming the excess tape out, (at a slight angle of course) so that the tape wouldn't be visible once they were reapplied to the grilles.

They look much better in person.

Update:

I am currently working on a set of custom made Sap Grilles. I had these made over the winter an I'll be doing the same paint scheme on those too.. although... now that I have wheels where they make the transition from Silver too Black from the Lip to the Spokes... I may blend in that effect to the Snorkels, Grilles and Kidney area so that everything flows properly with one another... I am in the process of fabbing up a custom set of hand built (Via Heat Stressed), set of the OEM Grilles, to be used as the back meshing. Should look pretty sweet when it's all said and done. ;)

First message he sent to me yesterday morning when I was at work...

My reply to him when I came home for lunch, found new wheels in my garage, opened them and found the damage & factory flaws to the wheels he sent me... (glad I didnt send the others back ASAP) lol

I got the wheels today that you sent for exchange. But, of course... once again we have a problem.

# 1) The very first box I opened (one of the 18x8.5's)... has a 2 inch dent in the outer lip (Flat Spot) I happened to notice the round plastic packing protection had a 3 inch split in it and that is when I removed the packing and discovered the dent.

# 2) One of the 18x9.5 has a 2 in hole in the center of the wheels that was obviously filled with some sort of filler and was poorly applied and smoothed out prior to powered coating.

I took 20 -30 pictures of these as they were being opened and inspected but I dont not have the time right now to go through all the pictures to find the best ones that show what I am taking about. I have to work 6pm - 6 am... I will send you those pictures tomorrow morning and you can decide on what we are going to do about the problem the flawed wheel. No, I don't blame you, it is obviously due to a factory / shipping issue and I will not hold this against YOU, but I do wish to have a different set of wheels. At least to have the two bad ones I received replaced ASAP.

His (1st) reply to the damaged wheels (Note how he want the Hyper Black shipped back so badly... there is a reason...lol)

Ok, I will take care those problem. But can you send those four hyper black out first. And when is best time I call you, so we can talk over by phone ?

Here are a couple messages I received from another member over a month ago that bought from him also and had nothing but problems. (this is just one of several members here that have contacted me... after I had already paid the guy of course haha!!)

First: I do like the Stern's. They look awesome and hypersilver rocks. Although you do not like rivets, I wish those were available when I bought mine. That 46mm makes more difference than you think.

Second: That is the same guy I bought from. I bought the staggered 8's and 9's. They took forever to get here and I called him several times to get them. He is obviously oriental and his english is difficult to understand. He's out of California. Anyway, when they came in, they were all 8's. He sent me a shipping label to send back the 2 8's for the 2 9's, but...

I had bought his lugnut package and it never came. It cost me $76.00 (locks included), but since he never refunded me, after numerous requests, I just refused to send back those 2 18x8's. They are in my garage, still boxed up. Spares I guess. It cost me having to drive to Gainesville on my M/T DR's and the money that I did not get back on the lugs. He refuses to answer my calls, so F*** him.

Good luck and go get a massage or something. This guy will make you blow a gasket.

Yeah, he knew I was keeping them. I told him on the phone that I would not ship the 2 back until I got the 9's in and either credit back for the lugs or the lugs. Well, the 9's eventually came in and the lugs did not. I called him several times and no return calls. I can't believe he rather lose two rims over a set of lugs that apparently are $30 now. They were $76 when I bought them. So I look at it as he made his choice.

Yeah, I'd sell them to you. I'll give you a deal. They come with stems and center caps. Mine did. I have never actually opened these 2 18's. Let me know. Mike

I'm so sorry to hear about your issues man. It's funny how both of us had problems at the same time. I looked at his crappy feedback and I took a risk in thinking I might be one of the lucky ones, but I wasn't. I'm glad I got my money back on those wheels. Like I said before, I bought the same wheels with the same tires already mounted, with free lug nuts and wrench, last friday. The wheels were delivered today.

DO NOT send back those wheels until you have the correct one's. Then, send him back the damaged wheels and sell the extra set. Screw this guy...those extra set probably sell for the same amount it has cost you to store them and the mounting, etc.

I'm definitely leaving bad feedback for this seller.

But, after having been screwed so many times, I told him that I was keeping ALL the wheel... because none of which were anything I wanted... Welcome to the mentality of every single Chinese company I have dealt with/heard of someone dealing with/read about dealing with.
