Well I got the Ruff Racing R931's off of VQ Motoring a couple of months ago. The car is never driven in the rain, is washed and dried reguarly. I love the look of these wheels the black with chrome inserts complement each other greatly. But I got a bad problem. These wheels have an ungodly amount of allen head screws on them. Lets put it this way the inserts have 10 per wheel. Then all the little chrome pieces around the wheel have 2 each and I thing there is like 15 of those peices so lets say roughly 40 screws per wheel. Check this out.

Looks good at a distance right? haha
Ready for a close up of the screws?

Not all of the screws are doing this it is only 6 of them. Any suggestions? Anyone know what the warranty is like on them? I called VQ and they was out already.

Are those actual metal screws or rivets?

They get all fuzzy? Not sure what to do, but it seems to have spread to your fingers. Might want to get that checked out.
Just messing with you, I'd contact VQ motoring first, then go from there.

First off sorry for the fuzzy pics....snapped them in the driveway with my phone.
They are ALL metal screws not a single fake rivet or screw head on these wheels.

Replace them with stainless. That is my plan when the screws on my 281 rust.

Yeah I thought of that but damn I don't really feel like droppin that kinda cash on some screws that are only 2 months old. Like I said the R931's have 30 screws per wheel.

The hassle of finding stainless that are an exact match for these screws would be fun too. There is 2 different length screws on just the inserts I havent had any of the outter screws all the way out so they may even be another length.

Thanks man. Im sure you should get a quick return on this. Make sure to state and see if you can get the R278 rivets and if they would fit the R931 (this is just my personal thought). I think if that works, then they wouldnt rust again. But if we just replace them with the same ones, then thats a waist. So hopefully they should work.. I dont see why not.

well, to my surprise. The screws on the ruff 281 are chromed plastic and are not held in very tight. I expect to be losing a few from normal driving. I may replace them with s/s bolts anyway. And yes VQ is a great company.

Thanks for the compliment. That would be nice to put S/S bolts in there
Thanks,
