crash but no damage

last night after popping one two many pain killers, i found myself unable to drive, so my girlfriend gets behind the wheel, everthing was fine, cruising home light rain, we drive over an open gate bridge, and she starts to slide right, she panics slams on the brakes, and luanches us into a long 180 down the road, i have my eyes locked on the telephone pole thinking bye bye gto, end up right next to the pole, no damage to the car, the rim made slight contact, but nothing major, so i tell her to pull out of the mud and go home, today i notice that there is spikes of telephone pole between the rim and the tire, no air loss, take it to a local tire place, they remove the tire and pulled out two handfulls of shredded wood, free floating inside the tire, they remounted it and there was no damage to the wheel or tire, or car for that matter, i am bafflled how this occured, how does wood get jammed into the inside of a tire, with no damage, like magic, if i wasnt in the car there would be no way in hell i would have believed her

that happend to me once in my g6, did a full 360 in the middle of the freeway.
but i woke up spinning.

You are indeed a lucky man. I've came to in the ditch several times (once on a hella lot of painkillers, the likes to which you could never imagine). It took me over a year to get off of my doctor prescribed "medicine". Glad you made it out OK.

thanks guys, car rides fine, tommorow i am going to check out the crash site, since it was dark and we booked after it happened
