View Full Version : RS4 style wheels, 19x8.5 with a 48mm offset...

Hi.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. In my never neding search to find a set of aftermarket wheels that look remotely decent for our cars (actually look like they fit), I've come across these:

http://www.modbargains.com/product.aspx?pf_id=V708 RS4StyleWheel

I absolutely love these wheels. A neighbor of mine has this car, and I've envied his wheels for quite some time.

Basically they are offered with a 45mm offset, or a 48mm offset. How would these look on my car in either offset? Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't the 48mm be better...closer to stock offset?
I'm ignorant as hell when it comes to wheels and such, because this is the first car I've ever owned where there seems to be some sort of "voodoo" involved.

What I would like to run are the 19x8.5, in the 48mm offset (or 45 if this is deemed superior), with 245/35/19 on all four corners. I would like to do this with no modifications to my car.

Will this setup fit well? Or will I rub/my car look like crap because the wheels don't fit right?

Thanks for any help once again.

Reading the sticky at the top of this section, it seems to me that they should fit without a problem. Gorgeous wheels by the way.

Pontiac GTO Fitments
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bolt Pattern

5 x 120 mm

+48mm is the stock offset. (Same as most wheels for BMW's and many Audi and other euro cars.)

WIDTH ......... OFFSET ........... WIDTH OF TIRE

Front and Rear

7.0" ............ +26 to +65 ........ 215, 225, 235
7.5" ............ +33 to +61 ........ 215, 225, 235, 245
8.0" ............ +39 to +55 ........ 225, 235, 245
8.5" ............ +45 to +48 ........ 235, 245, 255

REAR Only!
8.0" ............ +36 to +65 ........ 245, 255
8.5" ............ +42 to +65 ......... 245, 255
9.0" ............ +48 to +65 ........ 255, 265, 275
9.5" ............ +55 to +64 ........ 265, 275 (body mods are required)

OFFSETS GREATER THAN SHOWN ABOVE WILL RUB ON REAR
FENDER LIP. (25MM FENDER LIP)

I consolidated for GTO owners only.

This is for a STOCK GTO and do not include any other modifications to your vehicle.

If you have Drag Bags or aftermarket springs your ride height may change and you may be able to fit larger tires or smaller tires depending on each individual case.

Although 275s are popular on the stock rims, it is not recommended. Many posters use 275s on theirs and have no complaints.

Thanks to Xsta Z 28 and Ls1tech members for the Tables and info.

Hey Phantom.

Thank you very much for the reply, and I sincerely apologize for not seeing the sticky. I know I have seen it before, and I should have known better.

Thanks again.

If you check further down that link that +48 is for the Audi bolt pattern, 5x112. The 5x120 only comes in the +38 offset.

38 or 48 ;)

I saw these last night and have been thinking about getting them too

Sir, thank you for that information. I had not noticed that.

However, if you actually *try* to order the wheels, you will notice that you can select both the 5x120 AND the +48. Go to checkout, and you will see these specifications selected.

However, you are probably absolutely correct. There may be an error in their ordering process that does not take this into account (that being you can only get the +48 in the 5x112).

Looks like I will need to give them a call to clarify this. I will post back here later in the day when I am not working when I have an answer.

Definetly let me know what happens, I had been eyeing those as well, and a +48 offset would be sweet. I have a feeling you are right though, its probably an issue with the ordering page.

Nice wheels. The extra 1/2" will make your tires grow about 0.2" in section width. Given the strut rub tendencies, 45ET would be better than 48. 38ET could get you into trouble with the rear fender lip. Try 45 and watch for strut rub, you could always run a small spacer on the fronts.

Sir I greatly appreciate your input, I will definitely go with this setup if available in our proper bolt pattern.

I would not do 8.5" wide with a 48 offset because of the strut rub. The 38 offset is going to hang out far, which I know you don't like.

ooops....I just figured that as many times as people ask about wheel fitment, it must be some obscure bit of information.

Unfortunately ET38 is the only offset available in the bimmer bolt pattern. :(

The front would probably stick out further than you'd like and the rear would have the same outward spacing as the typical 9.5" ET45 wheel.

The front sticking out is kinda ugly... the RS4 nas some nicely bulged out fenders though.

Haha, so true. I haven't heard of many people wanting to put G6 wheels on their GTO.

I will check in the morning when I go to work but I think the center hub on an Audi is really small. I dont have my Goat to compare size cause its getting repaired at the body shop but I will put up specs later this afternoon.
