like the title says, my buddy and i mounted a set of nitto 555s on my stock 17s yesterday. i did 235 up front for more strut clearance and 275 out back for more grip.

all 4 of the tires popped right on and the beads settled no problem. the rears set at 80psi and the fronts set at something like 30psi.

the 275s fit like a charm out back for daily driving and some fun romping... i think at the track id need to have cut fenders, but im working on heading up to rocksand to have frank and walt take care of that for me.

the grip is great with my small 340 rwhp and i think i should be able to add some power and not have any PROBLEMS ... they'll slip a little but thats what makes RWD fun.

laterally i'll say i do think i lost a little bit with the extra width out back. the ass seems to sway just a little bit more even with my pedders gear out back. granted, my rear sway bar bushings need to be replaced. and maybe im imagining it or just getting used to all the extra grip ... but i'll report back in a few days... im not surprised at the loss of SOME lateral stiffness. because thats what you get when you squeeze a big fat tire on an 8 inch rim....

all in all the ride quality is great, and i think they look awesome, they really fill out the wheel wells nicely.

pics to follow.

also... the 235s look great on the front. perfect fit IMO. will take pics of those too. i think they'd be great for a 3/8 - 1/2 inch drop.

Great minds think alike. I have the same set up. Be weary of your rear cradle because if it isn't perfectly alilgned, you might get minor rub on one side.

I think he means it took 80psi to set the bead when mounting the tires.

yeah we hit them up to 80 just to set the bead, after it popped into place we took it back down.

as for the rear allignment, so far so good, no rub on any corners or anything. but i really think the springs help A LOT with that.

edit: ive also noticed some of the handling came back . idk if it was just that the tires were new or what, but now the car feels pretty sharp again. im sure 255 out back would be a little sharper, but this suits my needs just fine.

i run about 36 psi on the street to gain back some lateral control due to the nitto 275s . at the track i wont go under 28 bc they will start rubbing. stock springs FTL!!!
