So I've been searching the forums and see peps running with 15" Welds all the way around. It looks so sweet IMO. So I start putting part numbers and stuff together and I come to the bolt spacing. Not sure which one I should go with so I call Summit. They say the bolt pattern on the GTO is neither which I've found out on here. Dude isn't sure which one I should go with so he gives me Weld's number. I call them and they say no way would they put their rims on a GTO. So why and how are people doing it. Is it a huge risk to be running rims that are less the 1mm off in bolt pattern. What other companies (websites) out there have 15 inch rims that I can run without any probs?

Contact Frank Beck, 'My First GTO', I believe he is a Holeshot dealer.

Bogart. Weld told me that they don't make a wheel that fits the GTO, yet a bunch of guys here run them with no apparent issues.

if you do indeed want to go with the welds, its the 5x4.75 bolt pattern, its not exact, but a lot of guys run them here. Welds are dot approved and can hold up to street use fairly well. Also most guys upgrade to the ARP wheel studs for more peace of mind with the welds.
Also the Bogarts and Holeshorts can be a direct fit, they just arent recomended for the street/daily driver.Im not sure many folks run the bogart/holeshots on the street a lot,but some folks take short trips with em,and you need to be very careful when street driving with these. These are some of the best drag wheels out there, but thats it,drag not street.

Ok... Rims that don't fit right, ok to run on the street. Rims that fit perfect not for the street. Are there safety reasons that make a drag rim differ than Dot rims? I mean I understand no fast turns or stopping with 3.5 wide tires up front. Am I freaking out too much about the bolt pattern? If its not gonna jack up my ride or kill me while driving I'll go with the welds. She isn't a daily driver only have 9k miles on it had it brand new since September 2005.

The Welds fit. GTO bolt pattern is 5x120mm. The welds (and others),are 5x4.75, or 5x120.65mm. Don't worry about the .65mm. The thickness of a dime is 1.30 mm ( measured on my digital calipers), so .65 is half the thickness of a freakin dime. And that .65 is spread out over the bolt pattern.
Here's some pics of my 15x10 draglites installation---> http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1226 47&page=25
More pics on page 24 of same thread.
Oh,btw, compare Jegs prices before buying from Summit.

Thanks for breaking it down like that for me Gulf. Guess it really won't matter then too much. Is it cheap to pay a place to put in wheel studs or should I do it myself? I found good write ups on how to do it.

On a lug that uses a conical seat, that little bit matters, as the difference will reduce the contact between the lug nut and the seat to a point contact instead of a face contact. Not good.

It's a piece of cake. At least the rears were; I haven't done the fronts yet.

Well, yes, at least in theory this is true, but I would imagine that the manufacturing tolerances being what they are wouldn't cause any problems.
I'm sure that you know this, but to avoid confusion to others reading this thread, the Welds use a shank type nut that extends through the wheel. A lot stronger than the conical seat type.

OMG my weld's are going to fly off the car and I am going to die in a fiery crash through the traps at 120+ mph.
Just reinforce your wheels studs with some ARP studs and get the long shank Mcguard open end lugs and you will be fine..
I can't believe that someone would be scared to run this. Give me a break. Of course Weld is going to tell you not to run these for LEGAL reasons only. Myself and a bunch of others have run these wheels and have had ZERO problems.

So how wide of a rim will fit in the rear?
What about these 9" rims?

So I'm looking to buy 2 Pro Star 96-Series Rims for the rear of my 05 GTO.
Size: 15'' x 8''
Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-3/4''
Rear Spacing: 5-1/2''
Jeggs PN: 927-96-58280 (http://www.jegs.com/i/Weld+Racing/927/96-58280/10002/-1/746350|36673)
My question is what are the correct size ARP Studs & Weld Lug Nuts?
What size studs ?

070-100-7708 for the rear and 070-100-7717 for the front. the fronts are pretty long. i cut mine down a little. don't know about the lug nuts altho they're RH 12 x 1.5. you'd def want the open end ones if you aren't planning on cutting the studs down

My question is what arethe correct size ARP Studs & Weld Lug Nuts?
I would recommend the 100-7713 instead of the 7708. The 7708 is only 1" longer than stock, and will not protrude thru the open-ended lugnuts. They will be recessed in the lugnut 1/2". Dragstrips require the stud to protrude thru open ended lugnuts.
the 7713 is 3/4 longer than the 7708 and will stick out past the Weld lugnuts 1/4"
