the Bersa .380 Auto.

Went to the gun shop today with the intention of looking at the Kahr CW40 after researching it online for sometime. I picked it up and being a gun specifically designed for concealed carry it is single stack. It just didn't feel right in my hand. I felt the gun was too small for my hand. I played with it for a little bit and moved over to the 156 million Glocks on display.

I had shot a friends Glock 23 a few weeks ago and loved it. It was accurate, recoil was standard for that coverage, and my hand loved it. At the gun shop they had a used one and a new one on display. I asked abou the previous owner who is a regular and avid gun owner that frequents the store often. They said the gun only had a few magazines through it and it had been won at a Glock competition or something to that effect.

So, they gave me a good offer on my lightly used Bersa, so I moved up to a Glock 23 today. I can't wait to get some free time and get out there and see how good this one shoots. Another factor that played into my decision to pick up the Glock over the Kahr is that there is a very broad and extensive aftermarket for a Glock.

Just sharing my happiness, comments are welcome.

Some pictures: (It is unloaded, no magazine)

See I can't do Glocks, hate them with a passion. I shot my buddy's once, it rechamber on my hand and that was enough for me. I got one about a year and a half ago. I bought the new Taurus PT 24/7 in .45ACP and I freaking love it. Mine holds 12 in the mag and 1 in the pipe and I chose that over the XD b/c it has an external saftey. But the new XD's have an external saftey I've seen now, and they hold 13&1 (now granted this is all for the .45ACP but in semi-auto hand gun, that's all I'll shoot anymore these days). I looked into a 9mm, a 357 SIG, and a .40 caliber also, and just for the knockdown power, the speed, and now days the carrying capacities of the .45s, that was the only way to go. But my g/f can still handle it like a champ, and she's just used to an old 38. But to each his own. If the Glock works for you, tear it up brutha.

Nice choice. That's the compact right? I think the G21 is the full size .40. The names as numbers always confuses me.

Yeah That Is The Compact, The G27 Is The Ultra Compact. That Is What I Used (g27) As My Ccw Weapons For Years Until I Got My S&w Mp40c.

Nice Choice, I Almost Wish I Had Got The 23, You Can Get Them In Compensated And They Have The Light Rail On Them Which The 277 Does Not Come Availiable In.

Yes it is. I am trying to get the numbers game down as well..haha

I already had a Minotaur MTAC holster for my Bersa, so I just had the buy the part that switches it to a holster for this Glock. It's a nice IWB holster that I can't wait to try out.

Well you both need a little more learning.

I don't like Glocks and even I know the 21 is the .45acp version

I know the Glock numbers I need to know. Mainly G19, the glock I have, G17, G18, G20 (because I want a hand held tactical nuclear delivery system). Anything above G21 and I are getting confused.

Good going, you went from a real "blah" piece to one of the most popular (and rightly so) .40's on the market. Pretty much perfect all the way around. Enjoy it.

 What does that mean??

He probably means that he got the train-tracks. The glock bit him because he had his hand too high on the backstrap.

I don't think Glocks are .45ACP, I'm pretty sure they use their own round, the GAP.

Nice choice. Good increase in firepower over what you had.

They're both, they have 3 model's of 45ACP (21,30,36) and 3 model's of 45 GAP (37,38,39) which is their cartridge and their answer to a problem that didn't exist.

Negatory good buddy.

Look it up.

The only reason I know the 21 is the .45ACP version is because the KRISS Super-V .45ACP carbine uses Glock 21 magazines.

Hmm, I didn't know that. Of course I don't like Glocks at all so that might have something to do with it.

Oh. Well, obviously (quite obviously) that is a shooter issue and is in no way a reflection on the pistol.

You can get Glocks in .45ACP, and/or .45GAP. They sell both.

FYI, the G37 is the full-size, the G38 the compact, and the G39 the subcompact .45GAP Glock. To my knowledge, they do not make a subcompact single stack in .45GAP like the G36 in .45ACP. That fact alone shows me what they think of the market for their own cartridge.

Heading to the range tomorrow to put some rounds through it...

I"m very disappointed that they don't make a compact .45 ACP. I would like the trifecta. Having a 23 now, 19 will be purchased in the next few weeks...but I want a compact .45 just to have them all...

The grip radius, from what I understand, on the 19 and 23 are the same (as well as the 17 and 22) but the 21 is slightly larger because of the larger .45 round. With the 37, they could use the smaller grip radius of the 17/22. That's why a lot of police agencies...including NYS police...just upgraded to 37s...so the women could use them.

Muni's around here have been carrying 21's for years though.

That Bersa .380 kicked like a mofo compared my my Glock, well for a .380 anyway.

Yes, the G23 is very controllable, I have no problems with it. I just don't feel comfortable carrying it in my "Thunderwear" with one in the chamber however... I might forget about it, have an itch and inadvertently pull the trigger... That, would just ruin my day!

Nice purchase. I love my glock, thousands of rounds and never any type of failure or issue.
