Hey guys, I actually just picked up my 06 GTO earlier today and love this damn car. Before I go on, I did read up on here and just have sort of a selective case of a wheel issue that I need some advice on..

The guy who had my car before me threw on some rims from Discount tire like 5 months ago:
Menzari Hydro 18x7.5 35mm Offset, all around
245/40/18 BFG KDW2

I have read that this offset may be a little off given the stockers are like 48? I have a lot of rubbing on the rear fender lips with anything more then me in the car when I accelerate, turn hard or on bigger bumps. I think I may have some rear spring sag as well because I can barely get 2 fingers between the tire and fender(only to first knuckle).

Also, I don't even want the rims on there given they are not my style at all. So do you guys think I'll be alright putting those tires onto the stock rims again and prob just get rid of the hydros? What other cars might run that kinda rim with the 35mm offset?

Sorry for the multiple questions here, just didn't really get my exact answer from the 100 other threads I read and my GF is getting tired of me ignoring her now LOL. This car will ruin my life!! :-)

Why would he put a 7.5" wheel on a car that came with an 8" OEM wheel?

Yes, take them off and get something else. The tires will be fine on the stock 18" wheel. The only other car that can run the wheel you have is a BMW 3-series (which was probably what it was made for to begin with).

Dude you know how it is with discount tire. They know very little about not much. Prob found a wheel with the right bolt pattern and just wanted the sale. I am going to throw them up on craigslist or something and try to get rid of em. They don't fit right at all and it will only further piss me off. :-P Thanx for the quick info!

Welcome.

35 offset is ok in the front, but the rear you need 40-55depending on the width of the wheel.

Check out http://azdgforums.com/forums/ for local Phoenix stuff.

Check out http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp for wheel and tire fitment info. Stock size and offset is 18x8 and +48mm offset.

because some people are idiots and always try to take the cheap way out

and yes, those tires will be totally fine with a correct rim

Honestly, knowing the last owner, he prob just wanted a new wheel and that is what discount scrounged up lol. I'm going to have a horrible time selling these things off..
