What options to we have as far as wheels for drag racing. There's weld's, holeshots, what else? I'm having problems finding wheels I like for the strip since I found out and CCW classics can be made, but will look like hammered dog shit due to our f'ed up offsets. I'm kinda leaning toward the holeshot holestars at the moment. But I want to make sure I have all my options infront of me before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

I have checked out Greg Weld wheels and the only probelm I have is they are unilug rims, 4.5 and 4.75. A special washer/spacer is used to determine bolt pattern. That pretty much turned me off with the wheels.
I don't know what the bolt pattern will be with the new 17's. hopefully they are for specific manufacture.

For the front you want a 15x3.5 inch wheel I'm pretty sure. I haven't seen anyone running a 15x4 with that offset yet. The issue is the small wheel coming into contact with the brake caliper on the front.
The 15x8 with 5.5bs will work on back, but with only a 235 rear size. You can also do a 15x10 with 7.5bs to fit 275's. You just have to move the brake line a little and possibly massage the inner fenders.
How about billet specialties street lite's?

holeshot wheels look great but I wouldn't run them on the front they are to week and crack easily. I use holeshot prostars on the back and they work great, I run my 18 chromes on front and every now and then through on the welds skinnes of my camaro.

How is the "drive-ability" on a 3.5" wide front rim. I do have a daily driver, but I still want the ability to drive the GTO around if I wanted and not have to worry about something bad happening on those skinny front rims. That's why I was looking at the 4" wide rims.

I think those just gave me a boner.

i was very interested in the 17x4.5" until i got to looking around for 17" tires to fit, and other than m&h front runner (which arent dd tires) theres isnt much at this time. So i think the safe bet will be the 17x7 on the front and 17x9.5 on the back.
and..

You may see that as a down side, but I see it as a set of lugnuts is all thats required to make a exact 5x120mm fit on our cars.

No, I didn't ever get the wheels. I decided to go suspension first. But this past Saturday I fried the stock clutch at the track. So once I get a new clutch and then suspension, I'll get the new wheels.

Mine are drag-only, so I don't mind the skinny fronts. I run the Drift-R's for everyday/road course use.
I used the spares up front with the M/H's.

UPDATE:
I've been holding out on the greg welds and it looks like they're ready to go now. Looking at the sizing chart, they have the 15x3.5 with the proper 1.75" backspacing for the fronts. But for the rear they only offer the 15x10 with a 6.5" back spacing. I'm guessing that these won't work. Can someone verify this for me please?
