Well, it looks like the tires i orderd are a bit too wide for the stock rim. Do you think its worth it to stagger with 235/40 upfront and 245/40 in the rear or is that not really with it since i wont be able to rotate?

The 255/35/18 rub in the front? There aren't many people that can without rubbing the front strut. Did you try a 2-3mm spacer maybe?

Where did he say 255/35/18?
FWIW, I'm running 245/40/18s in the front without any rubbing.

why not just go with 245 on all 4 corners?

bah, i should have been more clear. i bought 255-35-18 for the rear and the dealer is freaking out over how large it is for the stock rim. if they decide not to do it because they said it was bulging, ill get smaller tires since i dont have the budget for new rims. i was wondering if it would be silly to do 235 front, 245 rear, or just keep 235 all the way around for rotating/wear purposes. i dont race the car or push it real hard in turns, so i dont need the extra rubber up front and risk strut rub. i can barely get my hands between the tire and strut with the stockers.

I'm running 245/40/18 in front with no issues...if you don't plan on a larger rear tire (I'm talking 265 or 275), just go 245's all around.

take it somewhere else and get the 255s mounted. they'll be fine on the stock rims.

255's are fine for a 8" wide wheel

just do 245's all around.... even if you do 235 front and 255 rear its not really worth it.

i bought a set of used rims off this forum with 235 front and 255 rear and it made the rear look like it was sagging. now I'm running 245s all around and i am very happy

sagging? must have been a lower profile rear tire?

255/40-18
it just didn't look good
there was a large gap from the front tires to the wheel wells. in the rear the tires almost touched. i guess sagging was the wrong word because it looked like the front had been lifted
