Well, I participated in a gunbroker dutch auction for a lot of 5 stripped AR receivers. I wanted to buy ONE, but when I re-bid, it put me in as bidding on two for whatever reason, and guess what-- I won. So now I have TWO stripped AR15 receivers coming my way. One is going to be made into a SBR, but the other one I'm wide open on. A few ideas I'm kicking around is making an ultra light weight 16" carbine, or maybe a pistol caliber. I'd love to do something in 6.8 or .50 Beo, but I don't want to shell out $.75/rd and up for ammo.

So what should I do with that second lower?

If ammo prices keep doing what theyve been doing, there isnt gonna be a big difference between 6.8 and 5.56...

Spikes .22LR upper. I've had mine for 2 months now and love the thing. I've only run 550 rounds through it, but it hasn't missed a beat and is a blast to shoot, much cheaper than the other AR's to feed. I think the demand has dropped a little and the back log is down. It's paid for itself in the one box of .22 I've run through it.

+1 although i think i'd try out tactical solutions new 22 upper. self contained blow back bolt. (mine will have a folding stock.)
