View Full Version : New Suppressors
Thought I would share, nothing else better to do tonight. Just got my .308, 9mm, and .22 suppressor paperwork back approved from BATFE, so the 8 week wait is over! I can't wait to take these out to the range! The 9mm Can is a YHM Cobra and the .308 and .22 Cans are done by a local guy and his shop in Cheyenne, WY. They are very well made and are made out of titanium. They feel almost plastic-like light! The .22 is almost hollywood quiet haha.
My AR-15 w/ AAC M4-2000 suppressor, Remington 700P w/ TBAC Ti (after being threaded, the machining took some of the finish off. Finally gives me an excuse to get it duracoated, perhaps tan?)

I'd love to match my P226 up w/ one of those. Does it throw off the balance of the gun at all?

I shot a glock 19 with a trident suprssor and didn't notice the gun being any more front heavy.

filling out some paperwork with the BATFE and paying a $200 tax stamp on each suppressor. Pending approval and waiting about 2 months.
Thats about the easiest to explain lol

How does it install? Do you need a different barrel or something?

It makes them a tad front heavy, but nothing outrageous and I think it feels great combined with it.

I got a deal for them, a little knocked off each since I buy alot of stuff thru this one shop. $800 + $200(tax stamp) for the AAC M4-2000, and $1050 + $200 for the .308 can.

On the AR15, I simply switched out the A2 flash hider for the AAC Phantom adapter that came with the suppressor. For my Remington 700P, I had the barrel threaded. For the pistols I replaced the barrels with a threaded one. Proper threading and sizes are very important!
As soon as I take them to the range, I'll make a few videos of firing one shot unsuppressed, and one shot suppressed to show the difference.

That would be cool.

I used to have an AWC Optima for my Title 2 AR......
With 5.56, it was about as loud as a HV .22LR, but with the Ciener .22 conversion and standard velocity rounds, all you could hear was the bolt cycling....
FUN toy.....

Oh yeah... daddy want!
Very Nice! I made one with a plastic bottle once. Worked REALLY well... other than the fact that the bottle flies off of the barrel after the first shot.
I've got a video of it actually.

Might not want to advertise that fact..... As stupid as it seems, that's a felony....

Oh, that's OK, as long as the thought police don't find out! :)
