First off, I don't blame Danny (FastKnight05) for this at all. I saw the extreme offset of the rims right off the bat and knew what I was getting into.

But I ran into my first issue with the new rims. I was messing around on the street today and did a hard launch from a stop light. I thought I was getting some wheel hop.

NOPE! I was rubbing the crap out of my tire. Only one though which is curious. It's only my passenger rear tire, not both. Would that be caused by the chassis torquing?

I know my stock springs are sagging, but not a ton. These rims just have a prety big offset. i could tell that right away. In any case, would getting some Pedders 5/16's raise springs get me out of the woods here? Or would I still have to roll the fenders?

I am running 265/35/18's on 9" rims with a +45 offset. I was getting some slight rubbing on larger bumps and upon hard acceleration. I put a set of Pedders 5/16" drag springs on, and I don't rub anymore. That's not to say that I won't roll my fenders sometime in the future though.

Bottom line...you should be fine with the Pedders springs depending on your tire size and wheel offset.

i just changed my rear tires to 285's now on a 19x9.5 rims, i do have some slight rubbing on big bumps with just a passenger and for sure i can't have passengers in the back. i do have 5/16" pedders on the rear though.

I've done a lot of research on this topic, and come to the conclusion that raise springs & drag bags are a band-aid solution to the real problem. If you really want to make the car right, you need to make sure the tires don't rub in all possible scenarios, i.e cut or roll the fenders so that the tires will not rub throughout full suspension travel.

Or, you can think of it this way. Raise springs & drag backs help prevent the problem, cutting or rolling the fenders eliminate it.

As for the passenger side being the culprit, I've also found this to be fairly common. A few mm can go a long way. It could be that you have more sag on the drivers side, giving you more negative camber on that wheel, or you might be in need of a cradle alignment.

I honestly don't mind rolling the fenders. Not that big of deal IMO. Maybe I'll just go with both.

I was thinking that doing both (Springs and rolling) should take care of it. My tires are only 245/40/18 and the drivers side isn't rubbing at all. The passenger side is rubbing bad enough for me to replace the tire. It scrubbed half the BFGoodrich logo completely off the tire this afternoon. I was pulling rubberbands off when I got home. Not pretty.

You let someone sit on your hood and trunk!?!?!?!?!?!?! I know for a fact you MUST have a dent in your hood now...they aren't thick.

I had the exact same problem and rolling the fenders fixed it completely.

sorry to hear that i was runnin 235 40's in the rear and i had no rubbing issues, with a inch and 3 quarter drop in the rear, i would say roll the inner wells and you should have no problem:),, oh and the rubbing on 1 side,, you might need a cradle adjustment
