HELP!

Does anyone down under sell Sparco seat mounting hardward (brackets and manual sliders) that is specific to the Monaro/GTO (uses stock mounting points on the chassis floor)?

I am 6'2". I want to take my GTO out on the track (road course) for driver ed. and seat-time days. I have several days scheduled this summer. The stock seats are nice, very thick and comfortable for street driving and long trips, but being so tall I do not fit in my GTO with my helmet on. :( I want to get a set of Sparco seats for the track, but I cannot find anyone in the states who has or sells the seat mounting hardware specific for the GTO to bolt right up to the stock seat mounting points. They all sell those universal "L" brackets that you have to drill holes in your floor pan and bolt directly to the floor (with no sliding forward and back capability) to mount the seats. :(

Since the Monaro has been in Production for years in Australia, I would have to think (or rather I am hoping very hard with fingers crossed on both hands) that aftermarket seat mounting hardware specific to the Monaro/GTO is available down there. Well, technically, I have not purchased seats yet, so if there is not any for Sparco, but there are for Recaro or some other seat manufacturer, beggars can't be choosey, and that would be cool with me. :)

If anyone knows of such aftermarket seat mounting hardware that is specific to the Monaro/GTO and uses the stock mounting points, please post a reply with information (link to website, etc.) or PM me directly. I would greatly appreciate it. :D

Thanks!
Tom

bump !! I would like to know also. any brand of seat is okay with me, I am just trying to save weight, as stock seat is at least 80lb each (guessing).

I do want to add that 3 months ago, I was at Sparco's warehouse for their annual clearance event. they had a GTO race car parked in their lawn for display. and it did have racing seat in it. but Sparco does not list a kit for the GTO.

Stock passenger seat weighs in at 75lbs according to one of the weight reduction threads. Assume driver's is the same.

I asked Gravana about this a couple times a long while back (because they have Recaros I believe) and never heard anything (they were busy with the hoods at the time, now might be a good time to ask again). Also JusticePete and the AFG gang run Recaros in their GTO as well.

I know Justice Pete has Recaros in his car. Not sure what had to be done to get them in the car. What I do know is that with them there is twice the room to get people in the back seat and they slide forward in no time.

Your best bet is to ask on www.ls1.com.au

biggest problem if you want to keep the airbags or not have the srs light on, is gonna be the sensors in the stock seats. unless you can either retrofit of sensors or trick the computer into thinking they are still there.

If you are going to also replace the stock steering wheel..then you wouldn't really care about that though...
