First of all let me say great forum. I'll be getting my '05 PBM/red 6sp in a couple days and you have given me some great hints & info.

Now for my question. With all the talk of some 275/35 18's on 18x9 rims rubbing and some not, why not use a 265/35 instead? My local dealer can get me a set of black ROH Drift R's (18x8 & 18x9) with Toyo Proxes T1-R's (245/40 & 265/35). Does anyone see a problem with this setup?

Yes.

#1, with the ROH Drift R, you should be able to fit 275/35 Toyos on there with no rubbing.

#2, the 275/35 is already a smidgen shorter than the 245/40 front, but not that noticeable. The 265/35 will be even shorter and would give you more of a squat in the back.

Must you have black

A 265 is probably the better choice for the rear being that the original tire for the 18" wheel is a 235 40. So I'd recommend a 235 40 front and a 265 35 rear. Little or no rubbung issues and the matching diameters front and rear. It's the tire sizes that Jim at Gravana Tuning is using on his Drift R tire/wheel packages. Good Luck.

thanks for the help. looks like things are on hold for a while as the dealer trade for the car i wanted fell through. hopefully they'll find one soon.

Gravana sells the 265 as part of his staggered package, with the 275 as a upgrade.
I'll be interested to see when you can get your ROH's because they are waiting on a shipment and it will be here in JUly.
