These are now up for grabs!!!
I am running stock OEM 2008 C6 wheels with Michelin PS2 245/35/18 front and 295/30/19 rear.
Everything fits and looks decent. For some reason they look small, oh welll.
WEIGHTS:
-Stock 17x8" with 245/40/17 Michelin A/S run flats = 53 lbs
-'08 C6 18x8.5" front rim with 245/35/18 PS2's= 43 lbs
-'08 C6 19x10" rear rim with 295/30/19 PS2's= 48 lbs
So I saved 30 lbs on wheels and tires!! Cool.

hmmm... interesting! That shouldn't fit with 295 PS2's. How thick is the rear spacer?

19x10" is 79mm offset, right? How wide of a spacer do you have? Did you get spacers from Skulte?

Yes, I went to Skulte for the spacers. Big bucks, but nice stuff. I ran 10mm up front and 15 in the rear. Before I ordered the reard, I put the back wheels on with 15 mm shims and then removed the rear springs and jacked the rears up to the bumpstops and made sure they would fit.
The car rides much smoother and hadnles reall nice. I can olso notice the rear tires being taller. I like it with the gearing, the twin turbos will like that...

Thanks for the info. Skulte does some great work. I'm getting 30mm adapters for the front wheels made by Skulte. They will be nice because the bolt pattern will be converted from 120.7mm to 120mm as well as corresponding hub bore sizes. In the back I won't need a spacer as it clears perfectly now.
Do you think you could tell us more what you did to the inner fender? Maybe some pictures?
Ohh and Tirerack lists those rear tires for $500 each, is that how much you ended up paying?!

I went with 10 mm up front and 15mm in the rear. I had the spacers custom made to be hubcentric. There is 0 vibration and the wheels fit on like a glove.
OK, to get these on the car...
- remove a section of the "lip" on the rear trailing arms to clear the tire, weld the seam.
- remove the rear spash guards from the wheel well, could be made to fit back on, but have not had time to modify.
- massage the inside of the wheel well from the center forward to give the tire clearance as camber increases when the suspension is compressed.
- sand down about 3/8" of quarter wheel lip as needed and recoat edge with paint to prevent rust.
- change all studs to ARP.
- remove 5mm up front and 3 in the rear from the axle hub center length to allow room for the new spacers to slide on completely.
- remove the lower shock bolt sleeve and make a new one that is .5" longer so lower end of the shock will move inward a total of 1". The bolt has enough length for this already. OR... you can jsut remove the uper dust shield from the shock. I did both, and have way to much clearance. When I get new shocks, I will leave the dust guards on and just leave the bottoms moved in.
- bolt on the wheels and spacers and have some fun!!!

I knew there had to be more to this story. OK, that makes more sense now. 10's on GTO's isn't new but with an effective offset of +65 and 295's that just ain't gonna happen with panel beating and cut lips alone.

It really was an easy thing to do, I invested an afternoon worth of time for a permanant wheel upgrade. The car handles insane, I can use so much throttle during high speed sweepers it is rediculous. Tons of traction.
If you wanted to do what everyone else does with the jacked up air bagged rear, these would fit perfectly with a 20mm spacer on the rears. But with the bags, the car will ride like crap and be very harsh on bumps. Not worth it.
I am suprised the car is smoother, same thing happened on that white 1000 hp Ls1 TT 1971chevelle I just had when I upgraded to 305/30/19 Ps2's.

No kidding, It would have pennys on the dollar to put a tire combo like this on the GTO in stock form.
The tires hook good, the only problem is the right rear tire needs more preload, I have a secret to fix that though....

If you look at my spacers closely you will understand.
A stock gto center hub, (the part the rim centers on), sticks out from the wheel mounting face exactly 15 mm.The problem with this is the vette wheels have a 1 mm larger hole then the gto hub has.
So in order to have the rim hubcentric with a 10mm and 15mm thick spacer, the hub length has to be shortened 5 and 3 mm so the new spacers can have some id reinforcement for the hubcentric part of the spacer. If you did not, the hubcentric part of the spacer would only be .5mm thick and would serve no function whatsoever.
All this jumble make any sense?? lol

Quarter wheel lip? If you mean fender let me know, I have mine rolled already. I am so going to do this set up with REPRO gloss black C6 wheels.

Yes the wuarter panel wheel lip. What I di, was removed the rear springs and jacked up the rear wheels with the car already supported. I traced a line and used a 36 frit tiger claw sanding wheel on my 4.5" right angle grinder and sanded the lip as needed untill I was able to jack the wheel up till I hit the bump stops. Most material needs to be removed from the center back to the rear bumper cover seem.
Next thing I need to do next week is correct the rear camber. I am going to do it trying some type of zero cost method... I will post how I did it when I am done...

No, if you take off your wheels, you will see the male center hub that the wheel centers on. It sticks out 15 mm. You need to shave this down. I did mine when I removed the studs to install the ARP's. I used a grinder and let the rear axles spin with the car running intill I shaved off 3mm. On the front I had the hub assemblies off, you have to remove them to get the 3" long ARP studs in, there is no way to do this on the car. I spun them on my bench grinder to remove 5 mm.
Does that answer the question??

I am glad I did this, I wish I could do 305's, but the car would have to be mini tubbed, no way around it. The traction is amazing since I did this in both turning and straightline. I picked up a solid 10+ mph through a long hard 45 mph right hand sweeper. Plus the ride is so much smoother...
