so... my front tire has a mind of its own....
Sometimes it will hold air for 3-4 weeks, but then all of a sudden, in 1 days worth of time, it will almost go flat, then it will do that for a few days (me having it fill it up every day) , then it will go back to being fine for a while.
I have had a tire store look at the tire, and they cant find any holes in it, could something be wrong with my rim? im dumbfounded

Could be a valve stem leak or someone is having fun letting air out of your tires.

All of these are good possibilities.
But, sometimes truth is stranger then fiction. We have seen it where a nail goes into a tire and doesnt cause an immediate leak. It will leak only sometimes dpending on how the tire is squirmed or positioned when you park. It sounds crazy but it has happened before.
Most likely a valve.
Even better bet, the neighborhood kids are reading this and having a laugh.

cant you replace the valve stem? start with that before you get a new tire.

I had the same problem with one of the stock tires. Took it in and they checked for a leak said tire was fine and replaced stem and thought all was good.A week later it was almost flat again.I kept a small 12 volt pump in the trunk ,for just incase.Since I bought new tires ive had no problem, but still keep the pump in the trunk.....lol

theres lots of weird ways a tire can leak like groupawheels said about the nail in the tire leaking depending on how you park it i have had that happen to me personally, most likely it is a valve stem but there was a post on here a couple days ago about the little rubber hairs so to speak on new tires if one is caught in the bead while seating a tire that will cause it to leak, and even stranger one i have seen is that quite a few years ago i seen a guy come into a tire shop with an einke wheel.....not sure on the spelling but his tire kept going flat for weeks and they finally found the cause......a pinhole leak in the wheel itself from a bad casting, lots of possibilities but the valve stem is the first place i would look just hose the hell out of the tire with some windex or soapy water and try to find the bubbles

I had the same issue on a stock 17" wheel. For some reason one of them just didn't want to keep pressure. I was usually refilling every 10-14 days. No holes and a new stem. I figured it just wasn't seating on the wheel properly.

yah, these are the stock tires, they are going bald, so i need new ones, but i have had the tire off, and a tire store has inspected it, doesnt that throw the nail idea out the window?

Yeah, pretty much so. I'm not a tire mounting expert, but it seems like a dirty wheel would prevent the tire from sealing properly.
