hey guys well I'm getting some rims for a Christmas present and when it comes to wheels and offset I'm lost . i read the sticky but i lost . the wheels I'm looking at at staggered 19's the front is 8.5 and the rear is 9.5 with both offset being 35mm . i also have found some 18's that are 8.5 all around but the offset is 38mm . my suspension is totally stock i do have rear sagging i know that.I do have 1" drop springs for the front that i'm going to eventually put on but if it wont work ill ditch the springs and get a higher ride spring.so any input would be awesome!!!

do you think some hub rings would change any of that?

Hubs rings won't do anything for you. I have 19x8.5 front +35 offset, 19x9.5 rear +40 offset. I had to get the rear wheels milled to +43 and I still had rubbing issues until I rolled the fenders. That is also after having full suspension work done to the rear, as well.

i have 45 in the rear with 3mm spacer n i had to chop my fenders

OK well let me ask you guys this .. is it worth it to just get a 18x9.5 for the rear or should i go with a 19x9.5 and just but the lip off ? I'm kind of in between myself here.

You may still have to do some fender work with the 18s. I'm not 100% since I have 19s.

There is no way those will fit with 35mm without touching fender. You'd need around 54mm for that...

If you are set on 19s staggered without modding, check out VQ's Ruff 279s with the 52mm ET in back. Probably the best fitting GTO wheels right now without spending a fortune. Any 265/30 should be fine in the rear. Probably a 275/30 in a narrow running tire. Depending on the rear size you go with get 235/35 to go with a 265, and 245/35 to go with a 275 to keep the front/rear diameter as close as possible.

thanks guys this is really helping me out alot ... yea ive scracted the 19's , i am not looking towards some 18's or so what would be a good offset for the rear if i ha got a 18x9 in the back ? +40mm?

Finding a inexpensive 18x9.0 is kinda hard these days. The ones I have on my short list are the staggered ASA-AR1s with an 8.0" 40 ET front and 9.0" 45mm ET rear. Tirerack sells them in these specs. I was thinking VQ sells those too and can do a 3mm shave on both the front and rear? That would get it up to 43 in front and 48 in the back. I have personally seen 9.0 48 ET rims work rub free with 275 Bridgestones on an unmodded 04 GTO. Results may vary though.

u wouldn't need to shave the front, but the rears would be a good idea to

If you want a nice looking 5 star 19" staggard setup I would go with the Beyern 5's man. Wont break the bank and you can get +40 front +45 rear offset. You will have to roll or cut but you will be happy...

Yeah those would work and the price is def. right... Some get rubbing with 8.5 +40 out back and some dont. It just depends on your car...
