Has anyone tried these out? I wanted to go with a little wider of a tire on the rear. g-Force T/A KDW 255/45ZR-17

Or would I be better off going with the NT 555 Extreme Performance of the same size? Opinions appreciated.

personally with my past experience with nitto's, i'd go with them. nothing's bad about bfg's but if i was to go with one, i would go with the kd's or dr's for bfg, but i have always got what i wanted to with all of the nittos i have, i now have dr and have previously owned the 555's as well.

Had em both. The 275/40x17 on the rear and Nitto 255/45x17 on the front of my Mach1. They are both GREAT tires, you can't go wrong with either one.

I have no experience with the NITTO but I love the Goodrich New Tread Design. I have seen posts here claiming the NITTO was just a smidgeon smaller in profile if rubbing might be an issue.

Yeah I am just gonna go with the 255/45's in the back so I don't think there should be an issue of rubbing.

I put some 285 KDW's on my Camaro after my Nittos fell apart. They were great. They were at least an inch wider than the 275 Nittos and looked very aggressive. Handled a lot better on the highway and in the rain.

I will not buy Nittos again. The tread split in several places and even crept into the sidewall. This was with only a couple thousand miles on them and no racing. I wasn't the only one with the problem either. I saw several other cars with the same cracking. Nitto d*cked me around for several months before finally giving me a partial refund.

The KDW's are great in the rain, i'm not sure about the Nittos but i'd be willing to say they wouldnt work as good. The BFG's are pricey but would probably last a bit longer than the Nitto. The 555's might be slightly better traction but I cant complain about my 275 BFG's which measure just over 10" wide.

I also have the 275/40/17 BFG KDW Excellent tire. Stock Rims. Only out back though. Have not noticed any rubbing. Locks up really, I mean really well. Road noise is minimal. A friend of mine has the 555's on his lightning, and they seem to have lots of road noise. I would reccommend the BFG's to anyone. Yes they seem to be a bit more costly, but it is definitely money well spent.
