My cousin gave me a brand new set of the Yoko Advan A032 tires that he was origionally going to use on his 3000GT before he wrecked it. They are the same size 245/45/17. Is it worth the $100 to have them mounted and balanced?? I believe that the advan are an Autocross tire. Will this help me off off of the line??? Straight line acceleration is all I care about.

If it looks like a race/autocross tire, then it will help straight line acceleration. Don't expect them to hook up like drag slicks, though. Also, be more cautios in the rain. Those tires may have fewer groove in them. Less grooves=less area for water to go.

Yeah and it shouldnt cost $100 for mount n balance, I work at Americas tire and we only charge $80 for 4. Your going to burn thru those quick tho, just keep an eye on the tread.

They are a good autocross/road race tire but they are NOISY. They will stick more at the strip but the sidewalls are stiff.

I ran that tire for about 4 years on my track car. I will second the opinion of Doc Gto, they are a very noisy tire. They are not for rain either. I did use them on the track in damp conditions, but standing water will hydroplane them.

would they be good for drag racing too?

The sidewalls are extremely stiff so probably not a great drag tire. I could never get my car to hook from a stop with this tire, even 2nd gear would spin them. The car weighed around 2900 pounds with 430rwhp and 412rwtq. A heavier car may do better though.
