I am considering putting a tactical light on the end of my M&P .45 and don't know much about 'em. I currently have a flashlight in the same location as the pistol, and think it'd be nifty to have a light on the accessory rail. Yes, yes I've heard both sides about what a good or bad idea it is, let's skip past that and right to the suggestions. Who makes 'em, what should I be paying for one, that sort of thing.

I really don't think it would be necessary for my Walther P22. :p

I don't have any on my pistols, but plan to have one modified to work on my FS2000. True mall ninjas will hail me lol
Here's some suggestions for you though...

just be prepared to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a tiny flashlight.

As cheap as $80 in my links above...
But, yes I agree... lots of $300 flashlights out there. I always shake my head at that.

You would be the one to say that...lol

lol, I see what you did there...
I will spend any amount of money on something that I want, and that I can justify the expense on. But $300+ for a small flashlight is one of the areas that I truly draw the line.

Yes and yes. $80 however, sounds fairly reasonable for a tacticool light. I'll have to keep it in mind and see what I have left after my purchase on Friday.
Thanks for advice, gang.

I have a Streamlight TLR-1 on my M&P .45. It's an LED and works extremely well.

It's only on until my shotgun shell extension w/ rail gets here. Only paid approx. $140 w/ s/h for the light and it is BRIGHT. Actually feels good on the gun, doesnt seem to throw it off much, but I'll know for sure this weekend when I shoot it (just picked it up yesterday).

I dont use anything other than surefire. I can get it at 10% over cost and love the X300. Had one one my XD and now getting another for the 226R I ordered. Bright as hell, high quality, and lifetime warranty. I might pick up a new X400 when it comes out mid January.

You can also find some cheap ones at your local gun show. Most of them are constant on/off, no temporary switch. Some of them for as low as $40.

it's one of those things on a pen, so the pen won't fall out of your pocket.
it is also one of those things which hold very, very small "cigarettes" so you don't burn your finger tips.
:D

I highly recommend the M6 as well. I have mine on my go-to HK USP .45 in my nightstand. Having the combo light/laser at the flip of a switch will make it a little easier if God forbid I ever have to use it waking up to a bump in the night.......
