Before I made the drive to PA this past weekend I ended up going to the Charlotte gun show Saturday. I walked around for almost three hours before I made my mind up to pick up this little guy. I wanted a .22 handgun to shoot for cheap with and have alot of fun, as well as, when females want to shoot, they can start out on this handgun.

As I was driving through Virginia on I-81, I noticed a brand new Gander Mountain right off the Interstate, so I flew off the highway and went inside. They were having a blowout of rifles, so I couldn't pass up this deal. Ruger 10/22 rifle with fiber optic sights on it. Another fun gun that can entertain you for hours on end for cheap. Not too mention the endless possiblites of modifying it for fairly cheap!

That rifle is beautiful, man. I really, really need one. How much did it set you back?

....(rubs eyes), I'm sorry, I could have sworn that I just saw you say that I could pick up one of those for roughly $220. That can't be right. Can it?? Damn, I need to go back to Gander, I guess. I was going to go Friday to pick up this gun I'm looking at, but my local gun shop has it $50 cheaper.

I was checking out 10/22 yesterday. It looks like some have a revised mag release that is easier to get to then the one in the thread photos. They are going for $199 locally in plastic or wood stocks.

Yup, $199, I got a small discount.

I Have The 10/22 Already And Hopefully Will Be Picking Up My P22 This Week Sometime.

They Are Both Great Guns To Have For Plinking Around And Training Someone.

The P22 is a great plinking gun it bought one for my daughter several years ago and she's put thousands of rounds through it.
The best ammo I found for the P22 is the Remington Golden Bullet "550 Bonus Pack" which I buy a WalMart.

Accessories can be had here:

I bought the aimpoint sight with mount, carrying case, a half dozen extra mags, etc. But, I haven't gotten the suppressor yet.

You Are The Very Opposite Of Me, I Hated The Remington Bulk Pack. The Federal Bulk Pack Ran Cleaner For Me With Less Misfirres And Failures.

The misfires / failures have been quite rare for me with the Remington OTOH, it is rimfire and most all M/F I attributed to poor primer distribution. All the ones I've rechambered have fired on another spot on the rim. I've never tried the Federal packs though.

I honestly can't remember the name of the other ammo I tried but, that crap would feed or fire worth a damn.
It seems the P22 likes a diet of decent .22 ammo....

My buddy's P22 only likes to shoot CCI without any troubles. I'm hopefully taking mine out to shoot for the first time this weekend. I have the same Remington rounds you use. I'll let you know how they worked out for me.

If They Crap Out On You Then Try The Federal Bulk Stuff From Walmart Before You Spend The Money On The More Pricey Cci Stuff. My Buddies Ran The Federal Stuff Just Fine With No Issues.

I Plan On Trying My P22 Out With The Federal First Myself.
