It has been raining/snowing here the past 3 days with the exception of a few hours, so I mostly chill at home during the day and shoot out my back window at different things, mostly cans, jars, and occasionally a paper target when it doesn't rain. I think I put about 200 rounds downrange since I have been home since Sunday.
I purchase and installed a $40 Bushnell scope to throw on there for some fun the other day and so far I love it. Doesn't do too much past 100 yards or so, but not looking to shoot past that anyway.
Now, the trigger is decent, but have been reading it is around a 8-9 lb pull!
I have to fix that! So I ordered a Power Custom Competition Hammer. Supposedly it will cut my trigger pull in half. A $30 piece of metal.
That said, it will arrive here at my house Dec 23rd and I will install and post up a review on it.

The 10/22 Has A Huge Following, There Are All Sorts Of Trigger Options, Barrels, And Stocks For Them.
I Just Took My Trigger Out And Polished It And It Helped Alot. For Now Mine Is Done As I Bought It For A Plinking Gun, I Might Send The Barrell Out To Have It Modified By One Of The Barellt Companies, Suppossed To Help With Grouping And Accuracy If Done.

I put a Volquartzen hammer kit in my 10/22 Charger a few months back & the trigger pull went from 7.5 lbs down to 2.8 lbs with much better feel. I was going to get the Power Custom hammer but Brownells had the Vq kit on sale. The Power Custom hammer has better customer feedback than the Vq, so I'm sure you'll be happy.
Reduced trigger pull definitely reduces your shot group size.

i have a PC hammer, it breaks at about 2.5lbs
i also suggest a
bolt buffer
DIY Auto bolt release
ext mag release
overtravel screw/target trigger
really the madness never ends. lol

I really don't want to do too much, just get the trigger pull down and I think it will be fine. It's only a target gun, but damn its alot of fun too shoot!

A friend of mine built a 10/22 a few years ago; bull barrel, new stock, trigger work, fancy scope, yada yada yada. I made fun of him spending big bucks on a 22 . . . until I shot it.
Well, I've got 7 or 8 hundred bucks in my 10/22 rifle now, & added a 10/22 Charger to the arsenal also. I've thought about building another 10/22 (or two or three), but have resisted the temptation so far.
& for you owners of Yellow Goats, you can get a beautiful thumbhole stock for your bull barrel 10/22 in yellow & black laminate, called Yellow Jacket . . .

I've got the PCC parts in my 10/22 and MkII. HUGE difference and definitely worth the money........

Good to hear. Read some reviews comparing the two companies that make them, looking at pictures of each, etc and decided the PC was the best one out of the two. Not that the VQ one doesn't do the job, but I liked the PC better.
Can't wait to get it and install it!

You will not regret it. It was the last piece of my 10/22 puzzle. I've owned mine since 1983, and over the years have added upgraded parts (18" bull barrel, nice Swift 4-12AO scope, Hogue overmolded stock etc), but the trigger always sucked. The thing is a tack driver......

I went and shot mine again yesterday, with the scope and the bipod on the 10/22 it really makes it a hoot to shot. I forgot to bring a screwdriver to remove the barrell band and see if it effected the groupings or not.
Finally got the gouping down to a respectable group and got the scope zeroed in. I plan on heading back next weekend with the new Walther P22 I am picking up tomorrow.
