Anyone else know or get a whining noise from the rear of the car when barely pressing the gas pedal? I have a 04 6 speed.

I used to hear mine.... until I put some headers and magnaflows on :)
Seriously though, mine did and still does, but it does it a lot less now that I changed the fluid out with some Torco and FM. Was there the day I got it with 12,200 mi and I now have over 40,000 mi.

So just change the rear fluid? I assumed it wasnt bad because my car is not performing any differently and its not a loud noise.

I would change the fluid first since it is a possible easy fix, then start looking at other things? Also do you know if the previous owner put in a different gear set in the rear end? If that was done that could be causing some whine, however I could be wrong.

Sometimes a thicker fluid can mask the sound better, at least that is my personal take on the situation.

Had the same issue with my car, then I changed the rear fluid and the noise went away. Its comming back now so another oil change is on its way.

The previous owner drove the car for 4 years and put 12k miles on it. He has not modified anything on the car. I am going to change the fluid and see how that works.
