Has anyone come across any pictures of stock GTO 17s that have been widened?? I am considering going this route and getting them powdercoated satin black.

Anyone running widened stockers out there? Just a thought as I came across http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/Gallery.htm this site and my curiosity was peaked.

Thanks ppl

weldcraftwheels widened mine 1 inch in the back. The wheels were then black chromed.

I had a body shop air hammer the fender lips totally flat before I widen the OEM wheels so I can't tell you if there would have been a problem or not. I am however using a 5mm spacer with them to make sure that they clear the inner fender.

The tires are 275/40/17 same width as the MTs I use at the drag strip on my SSRs.

I also had Nitto 275 mounted on my stock 17s.After I had the rims widened,I had M/T 275 mounted.Trust me the M/Ts are wider than the Nittos.I am not running spacers but I did have to do some work to the inner wheel tubs and suspension arms,I also have bags.My fenders have not been touched.

When James at Weld Craft widens 17's, it all on the inside of the wheel. Anybody know what a 1 inch and a 1 1/2 in widening yields in terms of offset? Gotta be in the 50's my guess.

Also, would a 295/45/17 tire on a 9.5 inch wheel (widened by WeldCraft) with these dimensions, 11.6 sidewall width, 10.6 tread width, 27.2 diameter clear with a 3 mm spacer and the inner fender rolled, with some "dimpling" on the inner wheel well be made to work? Or would you get contact with shocks and suspension arms? WeldCraft widens stock wheels to the inside, thus the need of the spacers. Would it work, or is that tire just to wide? Thanks
