I have decided on the Holden CV8-R 18x8 with an offset of 48. I believe it should fit b/c thats the same specs as the OEM set. Bare with me. They're about 1500 with shipping. Heres my other noob question it says it'll only fit Austrailian manufactured GTOs uh thats same for us too? right? Is that a good price and also was thinking about 245/40/18 all around and what tire would be the best also. Stock suspension and a DD cuz I've read about possible rubbing and how is that fixed with the pedders? Thanx żNoobie?

yo noob, wats up? j/k...

1. they'll fit any GTO

2. The stock specs for 18" wheels are 235/35/18 front and 235/35/18 rear. I know this will fit. If you go 245/40/18, the tire will be wider and taller. This may be fine, but I can't guarantee it.

Good luck! For 1500 you could definitely get a staggered set of wheels (18 or 19) that will give you much better performance and looks. Either way you can't go wrong

245s should fit ok on a stock sized and offset rim. I've got a buddy with 265s on stock 18s with no rubbing and have heard of folks with 275s on stockers with no problems.

So going staggered would be putting 18x9.5s on the rear correct? will a pedders setup help and what do i need to get i want to avoid rolling the fender or cutting it. u have no idea how much of a noob i am when it comes to sususpension. and is the staggered setup more exspensive or roughly the same. and what about tire brand:bomb:

All tires are a little bit different. I'm staggered and lowered so thre was no alternative to rolling the quarters. as far as suspension is concerned. stiffer 0 drop springs or raised springs/drag bags get you around the quarters being rolled.

They will fit perfectly. However, please be aware of possible shipping issues that can occur with your beloved set of wheels from the other side of the Globe (assuming you are buying them from somewhere in AU). I went down this road about two years ago and if I had it to do again, I would have gone with some of the more popular choices of US wheels that many users on this site have (check out the wheel gallery). One of my wheels was totally smurfed up when it arrived and it had to be shipped back to AU and another one had to be shipped over (huge pain). Also, the finish on my HSV wheels has been cracking - Bad enough to the point where I took them off to run the stockers. It's hard to deal with issues like this when you know there is nothing that the Aussies can do without someone paying 600 bucks for shipping. It's a hell of a lot easier to run down to your local performace wheel / tire shop. I'm not saying don't do it - just wanted to give you my .02.... Good luck with whatever you choose.
