ha ha i love the ghetto, and for dendom02 its a 245 35 tire it slightly rubbed up front but had i spent 60 more per tire i could have got the 245 30 tire and it would have been same diameter as the factorys but this way iam a 1/4" higher, but like i said i resolved the issue, i looked at the fooses i like yours, i work at a wheel shop and tried on a set of the df-5 in a 19 they looked good but i think it was just to much going on for the red idk it was strange, but yours looks good, i love the ibm i wish i had gone with that

I'm not a big fan of the 20's on a goat, but it kills me to see people who post things like it's ghetto, or rice, and calling it a donk. If the op didnt post up that those wheels were 20's, and just posted pics, None of you would have even known they were 20" wheels until you asked or he posted a close up of the sidewall. I like the wheel choice, it does look similar to a stock wheel, and it grabs the eye, which is what the op wanted, so i say rock em'. lol.

Just out of curiosity, why do people who put 20" wheels on the car ALWAYS have to insert "20's" something or another in title their threads? It's almost as if the look/style of wheel is secondary, and being able to say "I got 20's" (as if that's some sort of achievement) is the owner's primary motivation for mounting the damned things!
Why else would you say, "20's on the goat", instead of "hey check out my new wheels"?
Notice you never see guys start threads with, "got 18's" or "got 19's on the GTO!"
That said, I have seen one or two GTO's with 20's that actually looked pretty nice, however, that had NOTHING to do with size and EVERYTHING to do with style! :judge:

well i wasnt going for an achievement by posting that, i just figured it would get some attention from people that maybe wanted twentys but were curious to what they looked like, i am sorry if my word choice did not meet your expectations, and also as someone also said, they have seen some twenties before, some, there are not many people doing it, another reason you dont see "i got 18s" and "i got 19s" not saying that iam better than anyone else i am just was putting it out there, if you would feel better about it i originaly looked at 19s and i would have posted "i got 19s" but i didnt, but its ok i have seen alot of different wheels on gto's and some of which i wasnt a big fan of, but i like mine, now i will agree they make the brake look smaller, and i wish i could lower it about a inch also, the front if i used a different tire 245/30 it would look even better but i want to be able to rotate

i know its hard to believe but they ride better than my factory 17's did, i was really worried that they were not going to ride good, but theres no vibration or anything and as far as potholes and stuff like that yeah you def feel that a little more, but as long as i see them in time they havent been a problem.

Hey you did a great job on the wheel choice, looks good. All you need to do now is drop the front about an inch. And I commend you for all the scorn your taking because I'm trying to do the same. I've been looking at 19 or 20" rims for my GTO over a year now. Problem is 18'' is stock, 19" very, very few rims out there and pricey(want something not already on a goat), 20" lots of scorn from GTO owners but very plentiful and cheap. But if you get a muscle car type rim in 20" it does look good or at least OK, Kick a$$ if its dropped. So good job. By the way this is just my opinion.

Then I am not sure why your car looks so high now. If they are only a little bigger then the stock tires then you should be able to lower the front quite a bit. There are plenty of GTO's lowered 1" or more in the front.

LoL... I figured someone would ding me on the "never" part of that statement. Fair enough, and yeah, I shouldn't deal in absolutes... however, with one exception the examples given are not the same as the OP's or the typical "20's" title. In 3 of those threads the OP actually mentions of the brand or style of wheel along with the declaration of "18's" or "19's"; so the emphasis is clearly not JUST about the size which the 20" wheel guys seem to be most concerned about.

"seem" like i said before i work at a shop and we do 26''s like its going out of style, really for me 20's a like factory, i mean i am so used to doing bigger wheels i was not trying to come off like i was better than someone because of some wheel size.

Don't take it personal, I stayed away from posting in the thread for a while because I really hate when people have their mind set on what every GTO should look like to be a GTO. I feel your pain because I got a lot of flack when I did the conversion and wanted everything to stay Pontiac. A lot said it was a waste to spend that kind of money and leave it as that instead of a Holden. As long as you like it, who cares. I love the look of mine and could care less what anyone else says. By the way I think they look good.

At least it is a decent looking rim and not some gaudy looking cheap chromed wheel.
20 is a little big for me...I'd like to see that rim in a 19. It doesn't look bad out back, but just a tad too big for me in the front.

And THAT, friend, is one of many reasons why people say 20"s don't work on GTO's.
* Your car looks like a 4x4,
* your wheels/tires are too big to lower it,
* your brakes look tiny now,
* you have less traction than you did (which the GTO doesn't have enough of to start with),
* your braking distance is a lot longer now,
* your shocks/springs will go bad a lot quicker with the added unsprung weight, and
* the look is ghetto (and I used to be more than a little ghetto in my youth so I know from whence I speak),
but hey, who cares about all that - you can still tell the guys and bishes "I roll 20's" so it's all worth it ... right?

I think they look fine. If you did not tell people they were 20's they might respond better. I have been driving since the late 70's and have seen wheel sizes get bigger and bigger and sidewall profiles get smaller and smaller. The newer cars are now sporting 18's and 19 inch wheels and looking sharp! Now people are taking the old sport cars and putting 18's and 19's when they came stock with 15's. Back then you didn't have the wheel choices you have today. I think the chrome stands out compared to polished or colored wheels. Since you work at a wheel shop your are seeing the latest wheel sizes. You have thick skin. Hang in there!

I think it looks good. I'm with some of the people on here about getting that thing a little closer to the ground. or like you had said before, a smaller profile for the front. that might give it a staggered look. I had run 20's in the rear and 19's up front, but the offsets were just a little wrong and my rear tires kept rubbing. I settled on a set of 19's all the way around cause of the price (they were on sale) the style, and the width along with offset was pretty much what i wanted. so for now I rock the wheels you see in my sig. 20's are not ghetto, or donked. all the inbreads on here will tell you other wise tho!!!
