Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd post up my feedback on these tires.

245/45/17 Michelin Pilot PA3

- great traction on dry and icy pavement in very cold weather
- low road noise
- mediocre in snow

Overall I really like this tire because we typically don't get a lot of snow in my area, just cold weather. This tire is a good compromise between treadwear, dry performance and low road noise. If you're looking for a snow tire, get something else, but be prepared to sacrifice in all other areas.

I have yet to get stuck in deep snow with the GTO, but I can tell you that the Michelin X-Ice tire that I use on other vehicles has a lot more snow traction.

Cheers, Steve

I use Nokian tires on my GTO for the winter. By far the best tire I have ever used.

Living in Chicago, we get plenty of snow. Not so much this year yet, but tons last year and never had a problem driving through the snow. Even this year when there has been 3-4 inches on the ground, the car drives great and it really grips from a stop.

They are an all season but compared to Bridgestone Blizzaks, I think they blow them away. Being an all season compared to the Blizzak which is strickly a winter tire, you get much better tread life.

I drove on mine all last winter, roughly 7,000 miles and couldnt see any wear.

They were relatively cheap too, I think I spent about $650 for the tires. I used stock 17's and they are 225/50/17, took the 18's off to keep them nice for summer.

I have a friend who has the Michelin Pilot PA3 on his RX8. He likes them because he has better traction in cold or rainy weather. His original tires did not do as well in these conditions. He's waiting for the snow, which is the real test.
