Waiting period and Backround Check.

I bought an XDm this weekend at a gun show. Filled out the forms and they were suppose to do an instant background check. He was on the phone for 20 minutes and the state came back with no record found and that they need to do a more in-depth check...the dealer told me this sometimes happens and that it doesn’t mean anything......They said this could take up to two weeks......WTF....the guy next to me took only 5 minutes and he was check out ok. I know I don’t have any history. I had a background check done for my pilot’s license.....The gun I bought I got at a good price but the vendor is 2 hours away. Apparently the gun just can be shipped and I will have to drive to pick it up when I am cleared……I just have to laugh cause it seems like the law abiding citizens are the ones that get screwed……..I guess its not going to get any easier……

Sometimes happens. I have heard of it happening a lot if you have never bought a gun. Supposedly if you have bought one in the last 2 years there is usually not a problem.

I get an NCIC wait almost everytime I get a new gun, I have a common name which is the reason but it happens man. Typically there is a window I think 4-5 days that if the NCIC doesnt call back you can pick up your gun. 9 times out of 10 I get a call the next day saying come pick it up :)

I Always Get Mine The Same Day But Mine Always Has To Go To A Level 2 Supervisor On The Ncis Side But I Always Walk Out With Mine Same Day.

I love Colorado, some days you can be out the door in less than 10 minutes with your purchase. Just depends on how long CBI is taking to do checks. I've had it take ~5 minutes before, other times upwards of 4-5 hours, and that is rare usually (except if you purchased anything the day after the election that is....).
