Sounds pretty good for home defense and CC. What is your thoughts?

Pretty neat little round. I always carry Spear Gold Dots in my weapons but this might make me change them over.

the only drawback I see for some people right now is that they only come in .380, 38 special, 38 special+P, and 9mm for now... other cal. are said to come later

Yep, my three go-to carry pieces are .45 ACP (Colt Lightweight Commander), .38 Special +P (Colt Detective), and .32 Winchester Silvertip (Seecamp). Looks like only the Colt Detective is covered, so far.

I also have a .380 Walther PPK; but I don't normally carry it. Maybe, I will check out the new Hornady load in the PPK.

Yep, as soon as this comes available for .45, I am in like Flynn!

I don't think you have to worry about a jacket stopping anything bigger than a .40 cal. Especially if your carrying a .45. I think think that a .45 cal even when plugged by clothing will cause a bigger entry and exit wound than a fully mushroomed 380.

Which is absolutely my goal. :D

Cheytac came out with a similar round for the 45. Except instead of mushrooming with hydrostaic forces, it pretty much explodes.

Key thing to remember is you don't want to have an exit wound. First for safety. You don't need stray bullets hitting innocents. Second, a bullet that doesn't exit transferred 100% of it's energy to the target. A bullet that through and through's wastes it's energy.

I'm just waiting for the 10mm version :)

yeah I'm pretty sure that has a good chance of going all the way through, it pretty mutch turns into a FMJ after the initial impact

You mean you can't buy Winchester SXT's where you live?

Anyways, looks like an updated expanding point FMJ.
