Bought a Mossberg!

yup, bought my 500 persuader yesterday, 8 shot. i get to pick it up at 1:30 today, cant sleep to excited....

i was wondering......what kind of shells should i buy just for shooting at a range or just shooting for fun? What is the cheapest i can get? i bought some remington 00 buckshot just to have, but it is kinda pricey just to shoot for fun...and i also bought some knock out 1oz slugs....for home defense.

I buy bulk birdshot from WalMart for fun ammo. I don't remember the price but WalMart ammo prices generally as cheap as anyplace (including mail order).

Good choice. I shoot 00 buck or slugs at the range, only because at most gun ranges that's all you are allowed to use.

I have the same 12ga. Nice gun and good choice. For home defense I would suggest 00 buck shot not slugs. The beauty of a shotgun is the spread pattern. You don't have to be dead on accurate with 00 shot. Which is perfect if you wake up in the middle of the night and have to protect yourself.

does anyone know if i can buy the AR style tactical stock from mossberg? The one that comes on the persuader tactical? also i was thinking about buying a trueglow red dot sight, does the gun come with the sight rail? or do i have to buy that seperate, and if so who sells it? thanks

Yes Knoxx makes a AR style stock, it is around $100 on the web or $130-150 in local stores.

I have 00 9 ball buck shot in my Remington 870 for home defense, when I go to the range I migt shot some bird shot but most of the time I shoot the buckshot as well.
