I don't know about the red dot. There are probably some type of mounts made to go on top of the 500 (or 590 I cant tell). Also check out Mossbergs website under accessories. They have rails and mounts you can attach to the top of that. That is one of the most customizable shotguns out there and everyone makes accessories for it.

Yeah it looks like my 500 cruiser except I have a pistol grip, 18" barrel and door breacher muzzle break, and a nylon handle on the pump. I am glad I got mine a year ago for $275, they are going for $450-500 now.

The gun or the Trijicon? If it is the Trijicon then you must have one of those cheap Chinese airsoft knockoffs. If it is for the gun thats awful cheap. You must have gotten that either used or at a gunshow.

tkosmen - I have the same gun. If yours is a recent model 500 it should have screws on the top of the receiver. You can buy any picatinny or weaver rail off Ebay that would mount onto those screw holes easily. I have mine with a rail and NCStar holosight installed. I also have the Tacstar shell holder mounted on the side of the receiver as well. The Mossberg is a great gun with lots of potential and many possibilites to accessorize. If you got the bucks look into a Knoxx Industries Specops recoil reducing stock. The Specops stock also has an available cheek piece with an additional shell holder as well. With all those options and maybe even lights and lasers mounted, you will have an awesome gun.

BTW - saw an episode of American Guardian where they did some shotgun training at Blackwater. The host was using a Mossberg 930 SPX semi-auto while the instructor was using a Mossberg 590 pump (590 is the mil version of the 500). The instructor had no problems with his gun while the hosts gun jammed on him while doing a reload. Goes to show that for reliability a pump is better. I really wanted a 930 at first but went with a 500 for the economics of it ($250 at my local sporting goods store). Am I glad I did! The amount I saved allowed me to get accessories, ammo and still money to spare.

I bought the screw on rail for mine at Dick's Sporting Goods. You could probably buy it at just about any store that sells basic firearm hunting items.

cool, thanks guys, i just went to cabela's and bought an ATI stock, and the rail and some dummy shells to practice loading. i just installed the stock, took about ten minutes, it's bad ass, i recommend it to anyone with a mossberg 500 or remington 870. Quality products from ATI. http://www.atigunstocks.com/

i will have picks off it later tonight, my camera is dead.

sweet deal. I just bought cheaper version, mossberg maverick 88, about 2 weeks ago. I also just got a stock and a heat rail on it.

I got the Trijicon Ghost rings and yes they are under $100 and yes they are the real deal and not knock offs. I ordered them through a authorized trijicon dealer. Wilson combat is who makes them for Trijicon.
