Anybody tried these? Tirerack's site says they're new, but I don't know how new.

I believe 500 is the highest treadwear rating I've seen for a 45-series tire with a z, y, or w speed rating. I haven't been able to get a set of tires to last more than 2 years on this car, so that's something I might be interested in. The price seems pretty reasonable too for Michelins.

They actually have a 45,000 mile treadlife warranty too.

It looks like they're pretty new considering how few reviews there are. Seems they compare favorably with the goodyear f1 all seasons in the test, and i can vouch the f1 are very nice.

My co worker just put a set on his GTI and hates them. He said they feel mushy like the sidewalls are not stiff enough and the traction is not as good as the conti sports that were on the car new. He did say the wet handling is ok, but it hydroplanes at high speed in the rain now. Oh well i have always been a fan of Michelin tires. They might just be a bad match for his front wheel drive pos.

I put a set of these tires on my GTO about a month ago and I'm really happy with them. I was looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and the BFG KDW as well, but I really couldn't ignore the 500 treadwear rating.

I feel like I made the right choice.

I just ordered a set and will get them on next week. My Falkens were trashed after only 18 months, partly because of either rubbing on the front left or bad alignment. I really liked my Dunlops and my Falkens, but I gotta have something that's going to last longer than that.

The reviews seem good so I'm going to hope for the best. I've had good luck out of the Michelins I've had in the past.

They're about 5 months old, replacing the 5 year old original P/A all seasons.
They're a terrific high performance all season and you pay for the priviledge!

I just bought Bridgestone A/S's and they're real nice at about $50 less a tire but I have run the old P/S all season on a 400 hp car and they were great.

I got them mounted. They feel a little soft, but I haven't checked the pressure yet. I'll try to remember to update this thread periodically.

COME ON people...what's with this 500 UTQG crap on a performance car? If you plan to drive like a bunch of grannies, that's just perfect...BUT if you plan to push the 'go' pedal AT ALL you will really be unhappy....:slap::facepalm::nonono:

What makes me unhappy is having to spend $600+ on tires every 18 months.

I think those are the tyres that came (brand new) on the set of stock 18's I just bought. I will check when I leave the office. If so... they are HARD. They may last forever, but the grip is terrible.

Not the worst tyre around. If you are looking for long life, get em. If it is performance you are after (you can forget about trad life) go for something else.

These are fairly new. There is also a regular Pilot Sport A/S that has a little bit softer compound.

Nevermind... I have the Pilot XGT Z4. Which appears to be the tire that this tire replaced. They blow.

I have found that I got less life out of a high treadwear tire than I did out of a mid tread wear tire simply because they high treadwear tires were so hard, they were always spinning....the trick is to find the right balance for the power of the car....I got 25K out of KDW2's

OK the first obvious thing to me about these tires is that the sidewalls are way softer than the Falkens and Dunlops.

I had these PS2's A/S mounted in late summer last year. Replacing the stock Potenza's, I will say over the stock tire I noticed an immediate improvement in performance (although that might not be saying much) but was absolutely impressed with the handling in both rain and snow. (Daily driver) I never hydro'd in heavy rain at high speeds (and it was much better then the stock tires) and it was a 1000 percent improvement for traction in the snow (and Chicago had a bad winter this year) Although my car is completly stock I felt no performance drop off at all when putting the hammer down from a dig. Great traction for an A/S tire although I wouldn't recommend these tires for a modded car. So overall, very pricey tire but as in the above post, I can't replace tires every 18 months either and I have yet to have these tires cost me a "kill" cause of traction issues.
