I did a search for chrome lug nuts being used with the chrome 17" stockers and found McGard MCG-64012, Conical Seat, Bulge, 12mm x 1.50 RH, Closed End, Chrome Plated Steel, as the correct ones. However, I was wondering if there are any better ones since that post was from awhile ago. Any other suggestions?

I got mine from the local mom and pop rim shop when the mounted and balanced my tires on the chrome 17s. Not sure what the exact details of the lug nuts are, but they work! Not caps! Here is a pic, hope this helps!:)http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/attachment.ph p?attachmentid=100435&stc=1&d=1234018512

Just go down to your local tire shop and buy a set. They have them in bulk. Usually a buck a piece. Do you have a Discount near by?

JHP sells OEM chromed caps if you want to go that route, they're $70 though.

According to McGard, 64002 has a regular cone seat and 13/16" hex. 64012 has a bulge cone seat and 3/4" hex. 84537 is just a 5 lug kit of the cone seat 64002.
Is there a big difference between 64002 and 64012?
What size hex are the stock lug nuts?
Also, I searched JHP and couldn't find OEM chromed caps.

Is there any particular reason you are stuck on teh McGaurds?

Yes, I want to purchase the right kind from the beginning(because after reading posts the wrong size can damage the wheels or worse). If you know of any others, let me know.

If your local tire store can't get you the right ones (mine could and had them right there in stock) (no guessing) then I have lost all faith in humanity. ;)
Just giving you a hard time man. :p

they are good enough for a 11sec car , and several 130-140 sprints

Unfortunately, there are no Discount Tire stores in Pennsylvania. I'm sure that I will get them at a local tire store but I just wanted to make certain that I didn't need special ones. Thanks to all.

SO what is the verdict?
Are the 64012 and 64002 both safe to use? I just want the closest to OEM on stock 17's.
Also if someone has successfully used gorilla's and has a part number it would be very much appreciated to compare.

I decided to scrap McGards because their customer service is crap...I was talking on the phone with idiots who didn't even know their own products and gave me wrong advice(Kit number 84537 does not contain 64012 lug nuts even though I was informed otherwise by McGard). Further, I don't care for the looks of their locking lock nuts.
The verdict is: I decided to go with Gorilla. They have two sets(41933 or 41933HT[Heat Treated])which will work, the locking lock nuts look like all the other lug nuts, have a bulge seat, and are cheaper($31.69 for the 41933 HT set). The 41933 set is $30.39 and contains everything. You can get Gorilla brand from Summit and shipping is $9.95.
