I'm just worried about the fitment cuz they are 275-40's so I donno if I'm gonna have a problem hitting the fenders with the stock 17 inch rims or not, some friend said that no issue with the as long as they are lower than the stock 235-45

there the same height as the stock 245/45R17, you may or may not have fitment issues, depending on how centered your cradle is.

M/T recommends a 9 1/2 wide rim for those tires.I had the stock 17s widened to 9 inches wide.I did have to do a little work to the inner wheel tubs and suspension arms to make them fit.You can have the stock 17s widened to 9 1/2 but you will have to do the same mods I did plus use wheel spacers and roll the fenders.I didn't want to use wheel spacers, that is why I only went the way I did.

Plenty of people use the 275s on the stock rim even though MT recommends a wider rim. Some may hit the fender and some don't. Nothing a set of drag bags wont cure.

Micky Thompson's approved rim size is 9 to 11 inches for the 275/40/17 ET Street DR not 9 1/2.

Does spring sag cause the fender rubbing?

Does spring sag cause the fender rubbing?
It's caused by the car squating when the suspension loads before you launch. May also make contact if you have bad wheel hop. The tire is just too wide with the stock offset when it does either. Drag bags or fender rolling is about all you can do on the OEM 17 wheel.

I stand corrected. My point was that M/T doesn't "recommend" them on an 8 inch wide rim.

...but they do fit and they do work well on the stock wheels!...

I think that's been the case for people. Some have rubbed, some haven't. Alot will probably have to do with the condition of your rear springs. If they're worn out and saggy, you'll probably rub.
Stiffer springs or drag bags will eliminate that.

^ This. I've never run this tire on the factory wheel myself but have seen several local cars with them. I ran the (17") Nitto which runs a tad smaller but doesn't hook as well either. Drag bags are probably the easiest cure to any problem you may have. You're gonna love 'em!
