GTO-snow question for those with experience...

I'm sure the car probably will go nowhere on stock tires 17's or 18's in the smallest bit of snow (I'm in Florida; so, I cannot relate)...Having said that, a very close friend has an 06 as well (she has stock 17's) and lives in a Pennsylvania area that snows occasionally.

My thoughts would be that chains or cables would not clear the wheel wells or the struts/shocks, and I think I remember reading somewhere that chains are not recommended in the manual; so, we started to look at Spikes-Spiders or Auto-Socks...

Any experience with these products or anything else that will work (besides leaving the car in park)...?

Thanks :)

You don't need that, just get a good set of winter tires and drive sensibly and you'll be fine.

I've never seen the spider-spikes or even the auto socks before.
If I were to get either, I'd probably go with the socks. Only problem is that I don't see them offered for our application(s).

It looks like you could drive your car up Mt. Everest with the damn sport-spiders!:jawdrop:

I'm about 1/2 mile south of Frankford & Grant.

Funny thing is, I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, now I'm up here :bomb: I'd love to go move back down there again!!

Shoot me a PM if you get a chance.
