How long does a 10-15lb tank last ?

Ok one of the main reasons I have not got N20 is I am worried it just wont last very long. So lets say you have a 100-125 shot , how long does the juice last. I am talking about minutes/seconds worth of WOT. I don't want it if it will require filling every week.

Seeing as how I wont have funds to go FI anytime soon I keep going back and forth on this one.

I have a 15lb bottle, I go about 5-7 runs depending on what rpm I spray at, another 15lb'er is in the future.

10lb'er I would say 4-6 runs.

Or a few good long 150+mph N20 passes on the hwy.

2 - 10lb bottles here. With heaters on both I can get 8-10 consistent runs on a 150 shot
before I start loosing pressure at the end of the track.. Closer to 12-14 runs on 100 shot.
So to answer your question 100 shot = about 6 10sec. blasts at 950psi. Will last longer with lower bottle pressure and via versa with higher pressure.

Finally a thread where people don't overstate, I get about 3-4 100% passes on a 10lb bottle 150 shot.

I couldnt tell you how many quarter mile pulls I get, I usually end up out on the highways..If I had to guess with my 125 pills in Id say about 5 solid pulls. But I'm looking into getting a NANO system.

I agree, get the Nano system and you will add another pass or 2 depending on bottle size.

I think the last time I refilled, I had 7 lbs. left in a 15 lb. bottle. So your not always using the full bottle either.

And if you spray on the street every day, using a full bottle, you need to go find a job or a different hobby.

Im fairly sure thats what my buddy does...Wilson he lives in lafayette which would be a hike. But I think he works in Hutchinson, so im sure you could drop it off and pick it up later.

So from what I am understanding you cant use all the gas on a tank so maybe 6-7 1/4 mile runs on a 10lb tank with 100 shot ? Then you only have to pay for 6-7 lbs refill? I mean I guess that isn't terrible especially for how much power you can get from a simple 100 shot. Doesn't a 100 shot yield like 130-140 WTQ ?

If I can get a decent rate on N20 with a large tank like I have maybe this is still worth considering. Then a 10-15 lbs would be plenty and just pull up top my garage to refill it.

At that rate it would take a good 4 years to reach the cost of a basic used turbo kit with a lot easier install and removal if needed for smog etc. Hmm time to start calling shops to what I can get the juice for.

How much power you get will depend on the shot size and how your motor reacts to the spray ie cams, heads ect. Nitrous cams will gain more on the bottle then your standard motor cams.

I spray a 100 shot right now on my motor and I see over 150+ off of it. My motor is built for nitrous though, custom cam block heads ect. My motor with a nitrous tune makes 450hp on motor and over 600hp/trq on the 100 shot. I also run the nano system to keep the bottle pressure perfect.

Also a better converter will help out alot. Your stock converter can hold only so much and then you will be blowing through it with the nitrous. If your a m6 a better clutch would be a good idea. When you order a new converter they will ask if you are f/i or if your spraying so they can build you a converter for it.

no, but you can get the big mother bottles from any gas supply shop and fill your own bottle. That will drop your price way down for the nitrous. I am doing that for the same reason and so I will always have nitrous when I need it. No need to go to a shop and hope they are open if you have your own mother bottle at your house. You can buy a pump for filling or do it the old way and freeze the 10/15lb bottles and fill it that way.

On my old 125hp setup (different car - not a GTO) I saw about 80-100 seconds, but as others have said it was dependent on bottle pressure and as pressure fell so did performance. I always found myself wanting to NOT hit the button because I didn't want to "waste" the juice on something trivial...that definitely limited my enjoyment on the street (didn't stop me from putting it on two different motors though). For track only use I think it is great simply because you are in a more controlled world - you know when you are going to hit it and when you will let off and you will probably only get a few runs in on any given night, etc. It can also get old having to deal with bottle refills, etc. Having said all that...for the effort, little else will put as big a smile on your face.

Now that ive thought about it, couldnt agree with you more...I wouldnt be able to contain myself with N20, I really want some...iduno, maybe once I see how long it last Ill probably control myself and use it for something that deserves it, so def not on mustangs lmao...

N20 is fun, just like FI is fun.

Yes, N20 is cheaper in the beginning, and FI is expensive in the beginning.

It all comes down to what you want out of your car.

Personally, I love N20. Always have, always will.

Yes, I could save up and get a nice single turbo setup, but that's just not me.
