Ok, so today I got my CSL Replics Hyperblack in. :turbonaug I went to the local tire place to get them mounted. I walked to Best Buy to buy some movies, and than walk back. As im sitting in the waiting room the guy comes out and tells me theres a problem, and to come with him.. :banghead: So he takes me out to my car and explains to me that there is an alignment problem that caused my tires to show bad wear... Two tires have the wires starting to show, and according to him are ready to blow.. The other two are on there last legs... Now I just bought these tires last summer! He said he cant mount my CSL's on them until I get all new tires... :The_Villa He also said that all 4 tires will not pass inspection.. Which is an issue because next month im moving to Texas, and will need to get another inspection done to get registered in Texas... So now i cant install my CSL's until i get new tires.. Does anybody have recommendation on tires?? I think im just going to order a set of Hankook tires cause there dirt cheap, and just need tires..
This really sucks! Can never get a break!! :banghead::censored::mad:

welcome to my world and many others when it comes to uneven tire wear. There was a thread about this just recently. I would check ebay for tires just type in your size and many will pop up. But without fixing what caused that in the first place you can expect it to happen again.

Yeah i know... Im going to order wheels and than have them mount the new tires with the CSL's, and also do the alignment.. It just sucks that i spend $800 on new tires last summer, and have to buy all new tires this summer... :banghead:

Well you can always try Craigslist for a set of used tires, or a small mom and pop shop they usually work better deals if you have cash lying around.....

Probably like the 04 I just bought, 24K miles and the (newer) front tires were history.
If your radius rod bushings are shot, the inside of the tires will wear down very quickly

If you don't correct the problem you be buying tires in another year.
Radious Rod Bushing, Upper Strut mount and maybe collapsed rear springs.
If your fronts look new on the outside but show cords on the inside your GTO is riding only on that section of the tire only.

Get the General Exclaim UHPs. Great treadwear, pretty decently cheap. I have them on my CSLs, IIRC, I have 245/35/19 and 275/30/19, and total was around 550 shipped from tirerack.

Aye. Sorry to hear about your problems.
We have the Sumitomo HTRZ in stock in that size. Very cheap, just in.
+1,000,000, I have these tires on my car and they have excellent traction, look great, and they aren't directional (just inside/outside specific). I don't remember exactly what I paid for them for my stock 17s, but I know it was somewhere in the $400 range, so yours shouldn't be too too much more. Tirerack sells them.
EDIT: I also wanted to mention they are good in the rain too, and summer-only tires, but you ARE moving to texas.
As for the suspension issues, take your car Frank and he'll gladly tell you want you need to do to fix the problem.

I picked up some Kuhmos at discount tire for 73.00 each a few months back. :) Just was lookin for cheap tires like you! :)
and they arent the worst tires Ive ever had by far... actually decent
and might wanna look into getting pedders rear springs... that was the cause of my tires wearing our so fast, so I raised em up 5/16th"
Good luck with your move man.
I used to live in houston and spring is nice! :)

If your GTO is like most, you have more than an alignment problem. You should investigate the Pedders strut rub kit.
2/4/09 PEDDERS STRUT RUB TIRE WEAR UPDATE
MERLIN STORE P/N GTOTIRERUBPACK
The GTO has been prone to front tire wear concerns, primarily on the inside edges. Some
due to sture to tire contact, but mostly due to poor control of the upper strut position
and the excess lower control arm movement on braking, cornering, and acceleration
This kit offers the fix and method to significantly improve front tire wear.
A save strut to tire clearance factor is the width of a pencil. Also it is critical
to keep and maintain appropriate tire pressures as indicated on your placard
